For the first time in our comic universe, Stacia Walton a.k.a. The Ruthless, is helpless and submissive before someone else (and no, we don't count The Ruthless #1, where Stacia got bored and had herself abducted to fulfill some long standing fantasies).

After her former partner-in-crime Doctor Collins sold her out to the Witch Hunters, Stacia finds herself drugged and in bondage in her own headquarters. Tsk, tsk, she's going to have a rather long talk with Doctor Collins.

This is the third Ruthless issue written by Jonathan Essex. The last issue was the last of a story arc in which we saw Ariel become the Boot of the Goddess, while Tracy just ended up insane and drifted off with some of Stacia's power. With that story arc resolved, now we're going to dive a little deeper with Stacia and see what cosmic secrets the world's most powerful redhead knows.

Here is page 1 of The Ruthless #13. We were going to release it November 28th, but it's Thanksgiving, so why not release it a day early

We start the issue off quickly, with Stacia waking up tied up and being tickle tortured by the Witch Hunters. The artwork here, as it has been through the series, is just incredible. It is readers and fans like you that have supported this comic for many years that have allowed us to seek top caliber talent to bring this story to life. And we are always appreciative of your kind words and support.

With that said, please enjoy this preview page!

When work on this issue began, I realized we'd come to the first round of something readers of The Ruthless had been waiting a long time for. Stacia was going to be tortured, long-term, by someone who was not an extension of her own power (see issue 1). It was both an exciting prospect to craft it (I'd been wanting to see it too!) but also a bit nerve-wracking. I had to get it right! It had to be good without being the end-all, as this was just the opening salvo. It was a tightrope act, to be sure!

I also wanted to try to show a bit of Damian's character; another few breadcrumbs after the last couple of issues. After all, the protagonist needs an interesting antagonist, or it's no fun. I hope fans will enjoy the back and forth between Damian and Stacia as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Trust me when I say this is all set-up for something much bigger, both in terms of excitement and plot progression.

Thanks Jon, you've done an amazing job with this line so far!

It's tough to reconcile Stacia sometimes..."Ok, she's cosmically powerful, then how in the world is she captured in the first place?"

It's an interesting conundrum. Stacia herself has been somewhat absent in her own comic line lately, and somewhat oddly enough, more active in others (Yelena). This was intentional, as she set up Ariel, Tracy, and Doctor Collins in a tickling death match to see who would become Stacia's agent on Earth. Ariel eventually won, with Tracy and Doctor Collins being more or less permanent casualties in that battle. After Stacia set up the battle, she left for several issues to let them duke it out. In her absence, Doctor Collins betrayed her to the Witch Hunters. During that betrayal, the Witch Hunters tickle tortured Collins ruthlessly to squeeze everything bit of information about Stacia's location, weaknesses, etc.

So the Witch Hunters are uniquely primed to give Stacia a run for her money. And I can't wait to share this story arc with you guys

Since the first time "didn't count" I'm glad you found the return to her tickling more entertaining. And may there be plenty more where that came from!
