In communication with a friend recently, they remarked that they're taking a bit of a hiatus from posting as they feel there's more animosity among parties here, of late.

Elsewhere, I read that some people find the chatroom less appealing as certain key players there seem to have left for various reasons (I don't know the veracity of the statement, as I've only recently begun to engage the chatroom in earnest, but maybe there's something to it).

I wonder -- and I suppose this inquiry goes out most especially to those who've been around here a bit, and seen the cycles of community attitude over the years -- Does the Forum turn colder with the seasons at all (perhaps reflecting the effect winter months have on mood in some), or are these entirely random fluctuations?

Love to hear your thoughts.
 
It happens every now and then. People with foot and/or tickle fetishes have the worst chat room and message boards fights. People get mad and leave and new people show up.
 
No, I just think that its just personality conflict. We all agree we like tickling but that doesn't mean we'll agree on everything. I don't think the weather has anything to do with it. Although I know in the summer I can be little less tolerant because if I'm at work and sweating my butt off I am in no mood to deal with drama from my bosses or co-workers.
 
Staying out of the Politics & Religion Forum has made the TMF seem to be a much friendlier and happier place to me. 😀
 
hmm...well in my case nobody here has ever made me take a hiatus. Sometimes I'll go into a short wave of depression and not post for a few days or barely post at all...but that usually passes and I'll bounce right back. My funk periods are always due to conflicts going on in my personal life, nothing here so that's never a factor 😀

I don't venture into the Politics and Religion forum much as some subjects there are a bit heated for me. But other than that this is a great place to post and nothing here has ever really made me sad or wanting to take a break 🙂
 
It's a cycle. There are stretches when I go into the chat every night...and then, when I don't show up for eons.

In recent times, I'd go in only to talk to the friends I've made. Kind of like having a beer at the corner with your buddies at the end of the day. However, lately, I go in, and they're not there. I've found a couple of them elsewhere (the ones with Java issues they can't resolve, the ones who hate the atmosphere and have bailed, etc). A nice venue...no one bugging to cyber you, to ask stupid questions, no trolls, no sympathy seeking clowns to endure. Just uninterrupted, wonderful conversation.

Yes, Cappy. There may be something to this.
 
i've noticed more tension lately also..and hidden innuendos among some members..i don't think the weather has anything to do with that..quite the contrary, i myself am rather more grouchy during humid summer days, when the humidity can give me a headache..however since i'm having some emotional changes in my body now, it tends to make me moody and grouchy now, even in the dead of winter..and not at all like what i normally am..it's like back when i first discovered the courttvchat room, it was a fun place to hang out and forget personal troubles, discussing cases, or whatever and making some online friends..then the room changed and there were fights, personal attacks, name callings, and it grew tiresome and childish, so i quit going..i had better ways to spend my time rather than watching adults act like children..

I don't buy it. There's always animosity around here, but depending on where you hang out, you may or may not see it. To me personally, the TMF has felt much more peaceful this winter, just because my loved ones and I haven't been victim to a bunch of personal attacks lately. I think over the entire forum, it all evens out.
 
Sometimes all it takes is a bad apple or two to ruin the whole barrel . I don't think that the bad around here will be a lasting thing , but a momentary annoyance . A forum is made up of many people , personalities and opinions , thats the diversity behind it . We also learn of the people were dealing with , their good and bad sides . We enjoy being here , to express ourselves and share some time with our friends . We shouldn't let a few people's tempers and sarcasim take what we enjoy so much away . If anything , we should stand our ground and keep what we enjoy ........ "We should hold on to what is dear"............
