Crafting an acceptable story is of paramount importance to me and these exposition-fests become necessary to keep the story points clear and build a little anticipation. They're always the most fun to write, which is why they tend to go on and on! Casual readers hate 'em, I don't doubt; my profound appreciation for braving this mountain of gab for the rewards I hope it yields!
I don't believe I've laid any hints in earlier chapters concerning bogey gods that could outstrip Sid... I did anticipate Sid when characters contemplated the transformation of Bloody Head, but that's as close as I've come. Sephie would as soon do without any further temporal deities, but the possibility of a superlative bogey god clearly haunts her now. She'll be converting her studies into activity soon enough, though an unexpected sideline will have her chasing up north first. More on that next!
