Helpful tip to joining the TMF community. If you're going to start talking to people on a friendly, social level, read through their profile first. Then you can find basic info, like gender and interests, so that you can start a civil conversation with that person and potentially make friends. From there, social acceptance and friendship are at your fingertips.
Simply asking 'are you a man or woman', especially when my picture is on the right side of your screen, makes a very poor first impression of you to people.
