Presenting the first of a new series in the spy versus spy genre, featuring Red against Blue, forever see-sawing for possession of the mysterious yellow briefcase. Bondage and tickle torture scenarios ensue... everybody wins.

Heh. Very cute idea.

Over the years I've seen some Spy vs Spy inspired tickle work and I think there's something about that concept that really lends itself to this genre. I myself had a very similar series planned to include as one off pieces in various publications, but abandoned it in search of characters that could have a little more personality.

I am sure that if anyone can bring such a concept to fruition - CAB's the guy. As evidenced by this first piece...I think SP!ED will be terrific.

This has to been one of your best works, visually speaking. LOVE the way you have their shadow on the building reflect soooo crystal clear! Amazing! And saw that "Blue" was wearing blue toenail polish. Cooooool!!! :bowing:
 
Sweet! love the reflection on the side of the building......but what the heck could be inside that case?

Do you plan them to all be one panel strips, or will they flex as needed? Just curious.

Wonderful design work on the principle elements. No doubt Red has red polish.

Looks intriguing and ticklishly packed. Looking forward to this fiction as a fresh start for 2013.

I'm still in the discovery phase with this series... eventually it will find its own level... or perish. Its a trade off actually, more panels mean a gag is easier to express, but requires more illustration work and time. One panel means the gag must be self-contained, and requires much more refined thought and elegance, which is more expressive work and time.

In the meantime it has touched off some other (time-consuming) ventures into the 'tickle torture/bondage spy" trope that has preoccupied me recently. Don't ask what it is.... but I may start dropping some Easter Eggs about for those with a sharp eye. 😉 :sherlock:
