Liner Notes: More classic monsters for C.A.B.'s Second Annual OktoberFetish 2013 Celebration! This piece pays tribute to one of my personal heroes, the legendary Raymond Frederick "Ray" Harryhausen (1920 -2013), grandmaster of stop-motion animation, artist, and sculptor of world-class creepy monsters. Mister Harryhausen's list of memorable accomplishments goes on and on; From 1949's Mighty Joe Young, to 1981's Clash of the Titans, he left generation after generation of movie-goers in spellbound wonder, and populated their nightmares with creatures horrifying as well as sympathetic as only Mr. Harryhausen could convey like no other animator.

His works still stand apart and above the flat, lifeless CGI of today that doesn't even come close to the visceral life Mr. Harryhausen breathed into his creations. This is to say nothing of the incredible art of coordinating the choreography of live action with stop motion in some of the most convincing composites ever set to film. And all at a time when computers were the size of rooms, used vacuum tubes, and were barely capable of a simple watch function. Ray was lightyears ahead of the curve.

The unparalleled Skeleton Fight from Jason and the Argonauts remains the go-to scene for proof that Ray's old-school method kicks the snot out of CGI every time. To this day, his works still give me shivers and I fear what Harryhausen dreadful might be lurking in my closet at night. Most of my all-time favorite monsters are Harryhausen originals; the Ymir from 20 Million Miles to Earth, Talos, The Skeleton Warriors, The Cyclops from The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, and so many more, too numerous to mention.

So here, I pay homage to the Master, with a re-imagining of the Harpy scene from Jason and the Argonauts. This time, a nubile young sacrifice, our own beloved fetish spy, Silke Arches, is left as an offering to the gods. Every evening the Harpies arrive and greedily lick the salt from her skin; the hours of tickle torture this induces is an inherent devilish bonus.

One of my heroes as well. A delightful tribute, and a wonderful image of Silke getting the virgin tickled out of her. ;-)

Nice work, CAB - and I join you in your salute to a film legend.

Ahhh... a nod to the classics. Greek mythology has never been sexier!
