Liner Notes: Just in time for this year's Oktoberfetish and Halloween, we dug up this very rare, first issue of SHRIEK comic featuring Silke Arches from the early 1970s. I was surprised how well the cover held up. There's something to be said about poly-bagging and backing boards. Mine were all thrown in a pile in the closet and tossed in the garbage when I went to college. Alas! Still... this is a lucky find! Nearly priceless.

I'd like to thank my good friend and colleague Sandy (Sandrock74) who I personally commissioned to do the art for this project. So, if you're in the market for some comic book fetish art, Sandy is your go-to guy... AND (lucky you) he's accepting commissions right now. Grab a slot while you can.

I spent hours in front of the drug store magazine racks in the late 50's, so I love the comic book covers perhaps most of all. Even has that recurring Halloween jack-o-lantern thing going on, eh? Nice job.

If anyone can post the cover to SHRIEK 2--wherein the Cat and Night Nurse are overcome by feather-wielding trolls from the Underworld-- I'd be most grateful.<p> I've given up trying to find issue 3, with its cover of Millie the Model and Patsy Walker hysterical in the clutches of Dr. Varoom's Pedidroid. As all you fanboys recall, the entire print run was pulped when the C.A.B. Fetish Authority denied its approval because the image was deemed TOO wholesome. <p>
Thank you, C.A.B. and Sandy, for this rescue from mirthful monster comic obscurity.

Issue 3 is a rarity because of its short print run. The Brooklyn print union strike of 1971 took place dead in the middle and lasted 6 weeks. The issue never went back to press because of all the scandal hubbub that took place at C.A.B. Labs directly afterward when they found a BDSM dungeon stocked with scantily clad secretaries at the corporate offices. The Post had a ball with that one.
 
Is there ever a time when I am not thrilled to see the lovely Ms. Arches in tickle peril? No. Most definitely not. Ever. Once again, thanks for taking my beloved childhood memories and twisting them into a newly beloved form. Wonderful.
