Now you can see where you live on a satellite picture taken form outer space.

Here's how: Go to The weather Channel that's www.weather.com and type in your area zip code.

Now look for Radar Map and click on it. This will show you an area of at least 100 mile radius.

Using your mouse turn on the wheel in the center to get the map down to your hometown. Now you will probably wait for your computer to lock in on the clarity, but eventually you will find a street map of your hometown.

Now lookup in the left hand corner of the map and find SATELLITE, and click on it. I was able to see cars parked in my neighborhood when the picture was taken.

Please let me know of your results in this thread.😎

Sweet Jeebus...that is far too accurate for comfort....

I saw our porch as it was a half hour ago....

I can't get too close but yeah I can see my house. It's a bit blurry though.

That's my house, but it's not as it was anytime today for example. It looks like the same one google earth uses, which is like 3 years old.

This is easier through Google Maps. Type in your address, click "satellite," and zoom in.

I agree. Google maps is generally better. You can also punch in nearly any addy and look around the neighborhood to see what's nearby. This comes in very handy when planning to visit an unknown place for the first time. Knowing what's in the area is much easier than seeing some street numbers.

Yeah, map's old. I live in a new subdivision, so the map shows only a grassy field.

Note: It is important to choose "Satellite Map" and not "Road Map".

Results: Yes, I can see the roof of my building and the cars parked on the street. Amazing.😀

I can't get the darned thing to work......typical!:facepalm2:

Besides, I don't know about anyone else, but this kinda' creeps me out; looks like a stalker's best friend to me.

Heck, this is the least of what's out there.

I do information research for a living. I had a client recently who was selling a house as part of an estate settlement. It turned out the house had an old lien on it. The lien had been cleared years before, but for some reason the bank still showed it as active. They insisted that the original lienholder sign off on it to verify that it was done.

The client's problem: all she had was the name of the lienholder and the lienholder's mother. No contact information, except that they knew she had once lived in that house.

Starting with that information, I found the woman in question in less than 1 hour: Current address, unlisted phone number, social security number, age, relatives' names. Cost me about $75.

Granted, I do this for a living, but the tools are out there. Anyone with a credit card and my skills could do what I did.

Cute 😀
hehe...here is our place (in the red area).
The the photo must be old. At least from last summer or something, cause
the old owners of the house had the pool.

^I'm not sure of what country's satellite was used. The first one of these I viewed was from a Russian satellite a few years back.^

I have never seen a satellite map view so close before it is creepy.

Based on the construction in town it looks like it was taken about 3 years ago

YOU MUST CLICK ONTO THE SATELLITE MAP.

The map that shows up in the initial picture should be used to get your exact location.😎:iagree:

^You can do this for most places in the world.^

Yanno, at first I thought this was going to be the same satellite image from Google Earth, but that image is from wintertime. You can tell by the trees. This weather channel image is a more recent one with lots of foliage.

All right Red, you're blowing my delusional high!!

Unfortunately you're more than right on this one. I remember shortly after getting married, I needed to update my social security card. They typed in my social and not only did mine appear, so did my mom's, all five of my sisters, and even my father (and he hadn't lived with my mom since I was two). This was in 1989 long before consumer internet access and a global community; imagine what they have behind the scenes now.......:whisper:

There are trees showing in this one. One person was looking for his car, but he usually parks under a tree.
