Why doesn't anybody help?!

Ladies and gentlemen...
A few days ago I posted a message in the "tickling discussion" forum, asking (begging?) for your input, in favor of a project that will benefit us all. This post was also kindly set to be sticky by the moderator, to assist...

The issue at hand, named www.open-personals.com is a newly launched dating site. Apart of introducing a new concept to the dating sites' arena, and apart of being free, it is the nearest thing to a fully featured dating site for the tickling commuity you are likely to see in the near future.

Actally, it is better: It will allow us all to search for a match that suits our preference more easily, without being "wierd", and not just within our community - but in the general population.

I am well aware I tend to put things at length, and that is my problem, but still hardly anyone responded!

At first just asked you people to throw ideas, and one person did that only! then, I thought "perhaps, with all the detailing, people are not sure how to start" - so I posted my own suggestion and just asked for feedback.

...And no Response!

I really, really, love you all, people, and this is not a complaint to bash you or anything. But for crying out loud, where are you?!

This is your chance to imfluence, and it is a chance to contribute to something I truely think can be valueble - to us - as well as to many many other communities. otherwise, I wouldn'd have spent hundreds, possibly thouseands of hours, codeing this site!

All you are asked to do, is give input, ideas, comments. It takes just a little thought, and a few minutes of your time, to benefit us, eventually, all.

I missed your thread i guess.It sounds like a good idea,but give it some time.You should not expect a lot of response for a week or so for the most part.And this is Thanksgiving week so people are extra busy right now.Confuchis say if you want to see doctor,you must be paitent.

I went to the site the first day you posted and the site was incomplete at that time so I figured you were still working on it.

I went back tonight and while I can update and create a profile, I can't seem to find a way to search for OTHER people on the board.

Also you make all of the user profile fields mandatory AND it doesn't seem to save those preferences...which would be come annoying if I had to fill that stuff out every time I wanted to search the site.

I could be just confused but I imagine you will have quite a few confused people.

Indeed, the site was only launched the other day.

As to your remarks:
You are, in fact, the first user of this site, apart from myself and a few (now inactive) test users I created for testing purposes. those, however, were not to be confused with real users, as they were named "test", "test2", etc.
It is no surprise, therefore, that you found no other users. However, it took you very little time from my post here in this thread to get to the site (I just posted it what -an hour ago?) so hopefully more people will follow you soon hint! hint! for everybody who reads this!.

I understand how the search is confusing. do you think that a search for non registered users need be with less parameters?

All fields in the user profile are obligatory.
None of the fields in the search form are.
When you search as a regidtered user, your search preferences are saved for the next time. if not - it means you have found a bug, so let me know!
when you search as a not registered (or not logged in) user, your search preferences are not saved.
When not filling any option in the search form, the system interpretes it as "any", so it is as if you checked all options.
Should I add a remark about thatin the search form itself, you think ?

Most folks that hang here find others by actually chatting with them and posting and just getting to know folks through munches and gatherings and personal recommendations from other friends....

Many do not believe in personals or dating services, so do not be surprised if you do not get a lot of input....

I understand why some people have lost belief in dating sites.

It is partly because of my own criticism of the dating sites function that I took the time to try to create this alternative.
Neither a dating site (nor a forum) is an alternative to getting to know somebody, chatting and meeting. But it is a mean to find possibly compatible matches, within the general population, and people that do not post on the TMF for whatever reason...

Open-personals.com is nothing like mainstream money-hungry dating sites. Though it has the dating site's functions, it will eventually be - what us - the internet community - will make of it.

I should mention this thread debating about a dating site for the community from not long ago,where there seemed to be quite some voices FOR IT all right! So now - here is something that can serve this purpose - and even more. The tickling community, though being among the first to be included, is just the begining.

You have put a lot into this and a lot can come of it, but you must be patient...

I might suggest that you visit the chat room here on a busy night and ask for input from our TMF chatters....

Many visit the chat room that do not post or read posts on the general forum and you might find that you will get more input more quickly....


Just a thought from an old timer..... 😉
