I agree it is always nice to put a face behind the posts. You are a lovely lady Jen....may I ask if you have been sick? I am fairly a new memeber and I don't know. But from readying the posts sounds like you have been. Take care of yourself and thanks for posting your picture. You have a very nice smile.

Seriously tho, you look thinner, healthier and happier. If you don't mind me asking have you been following a specific play. I know you mentioned about the ADA diet. I'm still losing weight too, albeit slower than I was. I just changed both my birth control pill and my anti-depressant, since both were causing weight gain. Plus, with both working and attending school( I'm majoring in Elementary Education too@ the University of Windsor in Windsor, Ontario), sometime I've got no time to cook, so sadly I've not always made good food choices. :sowrong: But now I'm back on "the straight and narrow" as far as diet and exercise(mostly with lots of walking, and a moderately low carb diet high in lean protein ,non-starchy veggies and lower carb fruits) and feeling better. Btw late congrats on making it to the Deans list! 😀

I have been sick. I was diagnosed with diabetes in 1998. Last April, I got serious about it and started eating better. Then, with Pete's heart attack, I became almost compulsive with eating right and exercise. I have lost 65 pounds since April. I am also loving school and generally loving life.

Eat right- The American Diabetes Association meal plan is totally well balanced and gives you tons of choices. I never feel deprived and can eat practically anything I want in moderation. I have been running normal blood sugars and find myself needing to eat small meals every 2 hours to keep from becoming hypoglycemic(low blood sugar).
