New to the site after lurking for a long time... I'm finally beginning to embrace my love for tickling openly, and I'd really like to further explore it with someone (female only) in the Chicago area. I've never met up with someone before, so if there's anyone on here who is experienced with it who could teach me a few things, I'd really appreciate it.

Finding others into the scene is not going to be easy. Probably the best way is to go to an event that is tickling-specific (such as the ones posted on this board). Otherwise, you should probably talk to someone who's done this for a while. Don't jump to conclusions simply from reading posts.

As there's a gathering in your area, perhaps you should consider actually MEETING some of the folks in your area. Knowing a few, as I do, you may find not only some cool folks with which to hang out, but the possibility of meeting a future play partner.

Too, you become a known quantity and not just an anonymous member. Known men do a lot better at meeting women than those many who remain unknown.

My experience with the monthly m/m foot and tickling meetings in the local gay leather bar have ranged from mildly boring to sometimes insulting. Yes, even in a gay bar, m/m tickling can be seen as something goofy and the venue is really not conducive to privacy if needed.

The yearly ones held in various cities around the country every year are generally much better, as the fetish is taken more seriously and there's a sense of community. However, traveling for me is not in the cards right now, so that's why I'm concentrating on local contacts here in Chicago.

I'd understood through several friends that the m/m community thrived. Mind you, I'm in California, so I'm guessing it's location-specific.

Keep in mind that ANY bar that isn't geared to kink will view kink as... well... kinky. While you don't HAVE to "stick to your own" you do have to find folks interested in your kink or very open-minded.

dvnc, you are correct that Chicago is a place where m/m tickling can thrive as a community. The one-time yearly gatherings here had attracted a number of guys gay, bi and straight. I guess the problem is meeting each individually. That gets to be the challenge--even in the bar hosting the monthly male foot fetish night (which is a leather/bear oriented bar, btw). I'll look into your suggestions. Thanks.
