Happy New Year everyone!
Idk if its 2012 already where you are from, but here it is!
My family and I just finished celebrating. So here I am posting again. Haha. Its like I have no life. Truth is this is the first time I am spending New Year with the family in a hotel, which sucks cause usually my brother and I buy a lot of fireworks to celebrate with. However this year our Mom wanted us to spend the new year in our province thus were at a hotel and no fireworks. I get here point that other than spending it with our other relatives, that with the dangers of fireworks misfiring we could easily blow up our fingers. She had me convinced till I saw the disappointment in the eyes of my little brother when the neighboring houses and people in the streets started lighting up their arsenal of fireworks. The smell of gun powder reached our balcony, the pyro-flowers bloomed in the dark sky, and all we could do was watch. I really felt something was lacking, and I knew our Mom felt our disappointment as well.
When it was time to throw out the empty bottles of champagne, our Mom reminded us why we spent the New Year here and that was to spend time together as a whole family. My brother and I are notorious for leaving the house and going to our friends after running out of fireworks. What can I say? We love blowing things up.
As the night settled. The sky no longer flaring up. I realized two important things. 1 I still have money in my wallet since I didn't burn them on fireworks, literally, and 2 how I missed spending time with my brother and parents. We are not getting any younger, and due to work and school, we rarely get to spend a carefree day together.
So again, Happy New Year everyone! May you and you're family have a great celebration welcoming 2012. And may this year bring more smiles than the last. 🙂
