Any Cold Case fans here? If so, you'll remember one of their best episodes, the one where the poor songwriter was murdered just a few months after the Great Stock Market Crash (the start of the Great Depression) around Christmas 1929. They put a lot into that episode, including two original songs supposedly written by the murder victim Violet Polley.
It turns out the lyrics to one of the songs has special significance to us. :cool
300 Flowers
- performed by actress Allison Miller ("Violet Polley")
- composed by Michael A. Levine specifically for Cold Case
- lyrics by the writer of episode 3.19, Liz W. Garcia
You and I
Said goodbye
I thought I’d die
300 flowers
I’ve been sitting here for hours
Can’t seem to make up my mind
You and I
Second chance
Home town romance
300 flowers
When I gave up what was ours
I met a man so kind
Red petals tickling my feet
Like an oriental carpet
Thick and sweet
What once was dust now is grain
I believe I’ve found my new man
Maybe you
Won’t be blue
I’ve someone new
300 flowers
I’ve been sitting here for hours
I’ve up and changed my mind
Yeh
I’ve up and changed my mind
