I saw the trailer for this movie today when I was waiting at the dentist's. I didn't even know they were making a biopic about Jackie Robinson! But I definitely think it's about time they did.

Really excited to see the film when it's released in the UK 😀

While I welcome this new film, it should be noted that a film biography of Jackie Robinson was made while he was alive and he played himself in it. Rachel Robinson was played by Ruby Dee.

Ah, I didn't know that! Well from what I saw of this new film, it did look very good, but it's always difficult to judge! It'll be interesting to see how well it performs at the box office over here. Not sure how many Brits are familiar with Robinson and what he did for baseball.

Even I don't fully understand THAT particular rule, lol. Well I'll go and see this movie even if I'm the one baseball-loving Brit in an otherwise empty cinema!

On the other hand, though, at least '42' is a short, snappy title, unlike 'The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel' or 'Salmon Fishing in the Yemen'. I like film titles that are easy to remember, lol.
