I saw this on your signature and had to comment.

First, who is Verbal Kent??? (I think that's right)

Second, I don't think they said that first. I think C.S. Lewis deserves the credit for that quote! Unless this Verbal Kent is the name of a man and he lived before Lewis did.

(Yes the same Lewis who wrote "The Chronicles of Narnia")

My only problem is that I cannot remember whether Lewis said this in "The Screwtape Letters," or in "Mere Christianity."

Verbal Kint is the character Kevin Spacey plays in the movie "The Usual Suspects" (everyone who knows and loves that movie knows whom he really turns out to be in the end). Anyway your right by saying that he wasn't the first to use that quote. After doing a web search, I found it was indeed C.S. Lewis in the book "Mere Christianity". Thanks for letting me know!!! I will make an update to my profile.

It's my pleasure to enlighten you. That is the beautiful thing about this forum. Many of the members here have been or are in college or a profession which gives them a specific knowledge in a certain field. So basically, we are able to learn and grow from one another.

I guess one of my "fields" is religion... more specifically Christianity. I have read most all of C.S. Lewis' works. So it came to me very quickly when I saw the quote!
