Rocking = TEH GR8EST
Thank you, rocking. "You're a gentleman and a scholar", as my grandfather always says.
Dirkman - I'm assuming, from the looks of it, that it's a DivX-encoded media file. I'm not one hundred percent sure, as I have yet to actually check the file, but since most avi files nowadays are DivX, I'm going to go ahead and make the assumption. Now, I'd hate for you to go through a lot of trouble on my assumption, but you're going to need to install DivX sooner or later anyway.
What you need to do is find a DivX codec that's right for your system. Generally, you can go to google and type in, say, "divx mac" or "divx osx" or "divx windows" or "divx linux" or whatever (without the quotes) and it'll bring up a bunch of places where you can download the right installer. Either that or check out
www.divx.org (I believe that's the right URL. Or am I thinking .net? I can't remember). From that point, it's pretty much the routine "install" deal. Just double-click the installer, or untar and make and make install, or whatever it tells you to do. From that point, you can watch videos in DivX format. I also recommend installing XviD, which is similar to DivX but seems to be much better in quality. Of course, you probably won't encounter this format unless you pirate DVD rips, but I'm hoping it catches on.
