Well today was indeed an odd day. In mid afternoon a big swarm of bees started to hover all over the place. An formed a swarm under one of the eves on my house. Its was/is a interesting sight to see though I sorta wish I could watch them form a swarm on someone elses property. 😛 Fortunately the Orkin man was here as it happened and told me leave them alone. Likely they will leave in a day or three if they dont find any place they like to nest. If they do decide nest somehere by the house he said thats when to call him.

If I can when its safe I might try to snap a pic.

just dont try and take there honey 😛

If these are honey bees, they are generally not aggressive (in my experience) unless they feel threatened. Kurch, if they do stick around can a bee keeper be brought in to move them? When I was in pest control we tried not to kill them unless absolutely necessary.

The Orkin guy said if the nest outside the house a bee keeper is a good option. If they nest inside a bee keeper may destroy your house to get the bees out. As of now they are still in swarm mode.

Hopefully they will not be a problem for you and your family my friend. 🙂

Thanks :ty: Mom thinks its a nest already. I am not so sure they are under an eve. Still looks like a bunch of bees all clinging to each other to me.

I've read that the bee population is dying off due to the increasing use of pesticides and here you have come up with a solution. :bwahaha:

Yea there was a condition known as Colony Collapse Disorder that was destroying a lot of hives. Guess I inspired a few bees. 😛 I rather have bunnies though. 😛

Have you found a beekeeper yet?

No. The bees are in a very awkward spot on the eve of the house. If they were on a tree branch its very easy for them to come and take them. So the bees have till Monday to leave. If they dont Mr Extermnator comes 😀

If a beekeeper can locate the queen the swarm should follow.

The problem is its on the house and likely would have to damage part of the roof to get the swarm out. That aint gonna happen. So if the bees dont leave by Monday morning they iz being terminated.

The Orkin guy came and terminated them. They were no longer a swarm he said but were building a nest so there was really not much choice. 🙁
Sorry you had to resort to that, my friend, but at least they are gone now and won't sting you or your parents.
