Ross continued to work on Mel and Mel's contacts in the RossShell office, making good, steady progress on the clients whom he had committed to service himself, as well as of course having final approval on other account managers work.
Tazzio was quiet over the next couple of weeks, so, inevitably, Steve and Fritz talked about the next show.
Ross was truly feeling stronger, better, making love and being in love with Kayley.
Kayley herself had to admit that Ross felt stronger so.
"Kale, you can see I'm feeling stronger. I'm working normal hours, leaving at 730 and coming home by 630. We are making love consistently, we are spending time together as a couple outside the apartment without my feeling like I am going to "Fall Away Dead" so to say. I really want and need to go to OKC this time in person. Its been two months. While it's for the show, we both know that it is really because I need to sit down with Fritz and Steve face to face and figure out how, if, and in what way, we are or are not going to do Canada, once and for all. Can you appreciate that?" Ross asked.
Kayley kissed Ross. "Yes,. R, I can. So, I am going to "let you loose" so to say. As long as you have no symptoms, and practice caution, ie, take a nurse with you, please just go and do your regular OKC trip, meaning, three days, two nights sleeping over, come home the third night, and please no office the following day, okay?" Kayley offered in compromise.
Ross kissed Kayley. "More than fair, VP, I accept, and it is agreed upon" Ross said happily.
The next morning, Ross called Fritz and Steve from RossShell.
"Guys, I am feeling much better. VP let me loose for the usual trip, as long as I bring a nurse, and the nurse stays with me in the adjoining room in the next suite. So, what were you guys thinking of?" Ross asked.
Next week, meaning, ie,. you come down Sunday night, two shows, Monday and Tuesday, you leave by Wednesday morning at latest, and we somehow figure out once and for all what the Hell we are going to do about Canada" Fritz said.
"Sounds just fine to me. We will work out the details" Ross said.
That Friday morning, Ross informed Victor and the staff at RossShell, that Ross would be away from Monday to Wednesday in OKC. Vic, as he always was when and while Ross was away, Vic was in charge.
Ross and Kayley made passionate love on Saturday night. Late on Sunday afternoon, Ross bid Kayley goodbye until Wednesday. He made a 4 pm flight to OKC, which landed in OKC with changeover about 730 OKC time. Steve and Fritz picked Ross up at the airport. The men went to dinner, and then discussed the agenda for that week.
"Guys, since Ross is better, I propose that we keep this trip "light" and not overtax our brains or the agenda. Let's do two shows, one possible refinery and or small company potential buy, and call it quits until next month. We all know that Ross is trying to get his energy back. Any even possible Canadian deals can always be discussed with Ross when Ross is in New York, and if Ross needs to meet one of us or a potential client or company person in Canada, that can be for the day or overnight" Steve said.
The men smiled, toasted glasses, and shook hands on the proposed agreement.
After dinner, Ross went back to the hotel, had a decent night's sleep, and the three went to the fields the next morning, for a 125 person show.
The foreman did a good, solid lecture.
The contract signings happened quickly, all on site, fifty four of 125 signed up, a very good return.
That night, when the three partners and the foreman went to dinner, Fritz slipped the foreman a $1000 bonus check. "That is for doing an excellent lecture. There will be more where that came from" Fritz said.
"Thank you as always, Mister P. Thanks to all of you. All of you have been so good to me and my family" The foreman said.
"Gus, you have been loyal to us, and we are loyal to you. One hand washes the other. " Steve said.
The next day at breakfast, the guys agreed to go to the office, discuss the company buy, and depending on how that went, or did not go, there would either be a Zoom show, or maybe it would be postponed for two weeks when Ross was in New York. Ross, Fritz, and Steve were all feeling better than they had in a long time. Fritz noticed that Ross seemed and looked better than he had in a long time.
When Ross, Fritz and Steve went to the office, they had a conference call with a guy who had two potential companies in both Tulsa, and outside of Dallas, worth 50 mil each. The guy seemed agreeable. He just wanted to sell at least once company, no package deal, no tricks, no timetables, or conditions. The men agreed that RFS would look at the numbers, they would talk again within 30 days, and that any deal would be signed within 90 days.
Steve clicked the man off. "Could it be? It all seems so.. easy?"
After the conference call regarding the company buy, Fritz called the field, and inquired whether a noon Zoom show could be done, so that Ross could be out of OKC that night, and home.
The foreman checked, and sure enough, they were able to organize the noon Zoom show.
Another 100 people logged in, more explanation from both the foreman and assistant foreman, this time 45 signed.
The ffity four, and forty five signings, of course made 99.
One of the guys who signed, said he would give his brother a $25,000 surprise gift spot in the partnership. The man's brother's interest made the total 100 signings over two days, a good, solid show.
"Ross, we love your company, and while you definitely look better, I think it might be a good idea if you went home tonight. We accomplished a good deal while you were here. Please dont worry about Canada. That will likely just take time, and we will figure something out" Steve said.
Ross smiled. "I know, Steve. We had a very solid couple of days. One hundred signings, I have every reason to think that we will end up buying at least one of the two companies from the guy who we talked to yesterday. I am going to take a deep breath, say goodbye to you guys until next month, and that we will figure out how to do Canada. There has to be "Some way to skin a cat" as the old saying goes" Ross said.
Ross was able to make a 6 pm flight to JFK, which would land at 11 pm NY time . Ross would be home at midnight, texted Kayley such, and she texted back a heart.
Ross got on the plane. He ate a bit of the in flight meal, and just dozed on a pillow given to him, through most of the flight to JFK.
Around midnight, Ross quietly entered the apartment. He went into Kayley's and his bedroom, quietly went into his walk in closet, and came to bed in his usual bed clothes of boxer shorts and a white T Shirt.
"Hi" Kayley mumbled. AS Ross got into bed.
Ross kiissed Kayley lightly.
"Good Morning, VP, it's midnight. Glad to be home with you" Ross said.
"I'm happy you're home. I have work tomorrow. You can do as you want. I can tell already by your voice that you sound okay." Kayley said.
"I'm fine. I doubt I will go in all day. I will probably rest and do a few things in the morning, go in at noon, out at five to six, home by seven" Ross offered.
"Sounds good sweetie. Good night" Kayley said sleepily.
"Night, Babe" Ross said, being able to fall asleep due to being tired and feeling peaceful.
Ross heard Kayley getting dressed about six the next morning. He opened his eyes.
"Good Morning, Energy Boy" Kayley said. kissing Ross.
"Morning, Babe. I honestly am fine. I will go in late morning at the earliest. I want to log into the company site at home, without having a thousand people disturb me. "
Ross said.
"Good Idea" Kayley said, grabbing her briefcase,. and heading out the door.
Ross was awake and up., so he ate a bagel, drank tea, took his meds, and went into the home office to log into the RossShell company site.
Ross had been feeling just great, health wise, mood wise, about the trip and outcome of OKC, until he surfed around the RossShell site, and could not help finding that "Something which could be "potentially serious" which disturbed him.
Just what was "Potentially Serious" that disturbed Ross? How would Ross react to it, and how would it be handled?
