A cautionary tale when planning to meet someone from online

My husband's co-worker lives fairly out in the country..his next door neighbor owns the house across the street, which is not for sell and is empty..the neighbor noticed a man and woman moving things into this house..he called the police..turns out the woman was from Indiana and had met this man online, and he told her he owned this house..What were his plans? What was he going to do once they were moved in?

Always make sure you know the person you plan on meeting from online extremely well..have several conversations..take the time to get to know this person...so that trust is established well beforehand..I consider myself extremely lucky that those I did meet from online all turned out to be real..gentlemen and not a Ted Bundy type...

I figured we'd be in and out of there quick enough and no one would notice. How was I to know the dude across the street owned it? I've used it several times before. And tell your husband to tell the co-worker not to dig around the southwest corner for a while.

Sorry to change topics, but does anyone know of any good abandoned houses?
