I just read this great article in Variety about Critical Role, and it describes something I've seen before a couple of times - a video of the first game that the cast of CR played together. (Critical Role is an online Dungeons and Dragons campaign played by a group of voice actors. If you've ever seen a cartoon or played a video game, you've heard these voices.)
It's a great video, full of energy and fun! But the description of it in the article brings it to life in a completely new way, even for me who knows every beat of this moment of storytelling. They managed to describe everything that's going on in a way that makes it make sense even for someone who doesn't know anything about Dungeons and Dragons.
I know we have some D&D fans here, and even some of you who don't know or care about D&D might find this compelling. Enjoy!

A little excerpt from it - Laura Bailey is a voice actor. She is also Vex, a half-elven archery expert with a pet bear named Trinket. She is at the table, clutching at her hair and staring at the papers in front of her for inspiration. She is also in the tower, riding a too-slow platform toward the ground as the stones around her begin to shake. Four of her party members have already escaped using magic. All the others, including her twin brother Vax, could possibly rappel out of a window. But Trinket can’t hold a rope, Vex will not leave her bear, and the others will not leave her.
