Maelstrom rocks! I had that on my old mac, it was the only thing worth plugging it in for. As I recall, it was a screen-saver, right?
I just bought B17 - Flying Fortress for $10 from Kmart for PC, I love it. Because I got it so cheaply, it doesn't come with a manual so I'm working out all the buttons and everything as I go along. Does anyone else have this game?
Why don't you just go to the "readme" thingie that comes with every PC game? That's also a manual...just not in a book thingie. lol
Anyway, I don't have B17 yet, but it did remind me of something: Anyone else here remember playing the WW2 flight game "Aces Over Europe" ? It was out about 8 years ago, I think. It was actually in 3-D. But so old that it ran on DOS. lol
I'd love for that game to be re-made with better graphics..and add sound to the radio stuff. The controls and other stuff were just fine. Hell, you could even make yourself invincible without any cheat codes...obviously necessary if you suck at flight games. lol.
So far, besides that, my fave flight game is Ace Combat 4 for the PS2. Controls just as great as Aces Over Europe's was, and the messages you recieve over your radio really help to save your butt. ( example: " Mobious One, he's on you, turn left hard!!" )
Oh and I forgot some other good "classics" :
Contra ( NES )
Spyhunter (NES)
Double Dragon , Double Dragon 2, Double Dragon 3 ( NES )
Simon's Quest 2 ( NES )
Oh yeah....and how many of you travled the "Organ Trail " ( or however it's spelled. lol ) on your old Apple computers?
😀
And how could the detective wanna-bes forget the "Carmen Sandiego " games for the PC?
😉
I think those have got to have been two of the most addictive ( and hard. lol ) computer games ever. Anyone here ever beat either the Carmen ones or the other one?
