Meka posted something in the VooDoo Doll series that made me ponder and reflect back to when i wrote a blog once about a similar subject..

on a reading forum that i visit often, you can review and rate a story..up to eight or nine or ten stars i believe..and i notice that the more violent, the more torture and pain that is inflicted on females in those stories, the higher the rating and also the more views..i've read some of these stories, and some definitely do not deserve such a high rating..which leads me to the conclusion that the majority of those who did read and rate like seeing women degraded, beaten, multilated at times, and even killed...i find that disturbing myself..i know it's fiction..and fantasy of course..in fact most of the disclaimers state that right from the start..but you have to wonder..out of all those reading, is there anyone out there who is getting ideas? a future serial killer? yes i also know you can watch this on TV etc..it's just something i've been wondering about..

o and how does a website know for sure that someone is over 18?

I suppose it relates somewhat to the nature of the site, Iz. If this place you're visiting is geared towards S&M/B&D fiction, then it's gonna attract alot of hardcore muthas...including those who probably shouldn't be allowed to play with nice things.

As a for-instance: I posted up a few stories I wrote especially with a tickling horror theme in mind here, and they went over like roadkill. So, the audience definitely is a factor. Whereas, if I posted the same stories there, I'd probably get laughed off the place for my wimpy entries. "Not sadistic enough!"; "Too much tickling, not enough real torture!"; and so on...

Oh! Yeah, Izzy-chan! JackVanderson said the same, exact thing to me when he read the story. He posted his feelings there too. (Just, not quite as bluntly. Heh.) The second he read it, he came to me totally disgusted.

I think that, though the story was an interesting and different it was a bit... unnerving. I'm all for freedom of expression....

But, what scares me (and Jack, I think) is the idea that people may actually want this kind of power and use it if they had it. The story is popular, because people (not all... so don't jump on me guys) want to be able to do this to a girl (or boy).

I don't think we should attack the author... just check ourselves and realize the story doesn't only have eroticism but it has lots of injustice and tragedy.

P.S.- We do have to remember what kind of site we're on, though I don't think that should exuse us from basic, understood morals and especially should not excuse us from our own, personal morals.

One of the more unnerving factors about the story, I think, is its descent into "hardcore" as it was labeled rather than simply starting at that point. It started out with relative innocence, sort of a school-yard mentality toward revenge with methods of almost comical humiliation. It makes the boy and girl appear as though they're in early high school or possibly even younger. From there it dives into flat-out abuse. From there, assault. Then we're to levels of torture that the guy didn't even seem remotely capable of.

If it started as an S&M torture/horror story flat-out, I don't think it would have affected me nearly as much. I'm not sure if anyone shares my thoughts on that or if that makes me strange, but there we are. The "ending" with the chopping of the doll was enough closure for me and while I hate dark endings like that, it felt complete. Returning to it and the point it's reached feels excessive and horrifying to the point that the story and creativity just can't push past the disgust and horror.

It's a fine line to walk... but I'm not going to condemn the guy. I just hope he can appreciate that sort of criticism the way some of the story's supporters demand we keep an open mind and not attack Ilohnoh directly.

Yeah, when I first read Ilohnoh's story it disturbed me, and I did tell Lexie about it, because it just disturbed me to my core. But I'm not going to attack either the story or Ilohnoh. I actually posted a comment in the story thanking him for it, because it wasn't until the second part started that it hit me. Whether he meant to or not, he's drawing attention to those people who (and they are here) would want to do this kind of thing to someone.

The story still disturbs me, however it's nice to see something realistic versus seeing the girl break down and willingly become the guy's slave. I honestly feel that alot of stories here need that sense of realism.

For example, I read a story in which a girl refused a guy's marriage proposal. So what does he do? He gets pissed, and drags her upstairs and ties her down, then tickles her nonstop while making her orgasm multiple times with a vibrator. Then the ending just ends with her breaking and agreeing to marry him, and the last sentence just says something like "It was the start of their ticklish life together". That's complete BS. If a guy ever did that to a woman she'd go to the cops and have the guy arrested. Basically what I'm saying is that alot of stories I've read make women seem like putty, like how things were waaaaaaaaaaaay before women had rights, and I'm not saying BDSM is a bad thing, but that's part of the reason I'll never participate in anything other then tickling. Hell I can't even tickle torture someone, it's not in me to be a sadistic person.

But I'm getting slightly off topic. Like I said, I'm not gonna attack Ilohnoh nor am I going to attack the story. Like I said, they are both needed to point out how many sick people are on this forum. Now by that I mean the people who never post that just lurk around here in the darkness. And it's there, amoungst our lurkers, that the sick twisted people that would actually do these kind of things to someone if they ever got the chance are residing, not our members that are posting and are active on the forum.

One final note:
Once again, I do not mean everyone. I'm not attacking anyone, and by lurkers I mean that amoungst our lurkers is where the creepy people exist, not that all lurkers are creepy. I was a lurker at one point. And from what I read, most people where too.
