This was made in a little program called Flipnote Studio for the DSi. You can download it for free (if you have one) and just play around with it.

It's a drawing simulator for the DSi, but it only has three colors to use. Black, blue, and red. However, you're free to use whatever materials are given to you, in this case a mix and match of photos from within the system itself. Yes, you're able to transfer photos taken in your DSi into this program and edit them to your liking.

This one's a mix of three photos put into one, so I hope you all enjoy the little GIF image.

EDIT: Since I didn't appreciate the comments I was getting on Hatena, I'll just post the file itself. Though this one has no sound to it sadly. 🙁

EDIT2: http://flipnote.hatena.com/51DC8D6031D21136@DSi/movie/D21136_09277FABE7CF6_004?in=user
It's back once more, but with stricter rulings for comments this time.

Nice piece! Very skillful!
btw you almost got me caught ya bastard! I never realized it would have sound

'not found' here either. But I don't have a DSi, so I guess it wouldn't have been much use to me anyway.

Thanks for reposting it. 🙂

I can't speak for the sound (as I never heard/saw that version) but I think you did a pretty good job there. I don't know what the 'unappreciated comments' were about, but some people should not forget that different people have different skills and different styles. Having that said, your picture isn't bad at all and my only remark would be that it might be a little unrealistic that she can keep her feet so perfectly still. Maybe there's an explanation for that though (I can come up with a few 😉 ) and on the other hand I know how hard and how much work it is to make a smooth running animation. You delivered a pretty nice job there in my opinion.

Ilo.

Quite welcome. Been meaning to post it anyway after deleting it off. 🙂

I don't know what the 'unappreciated comments' were about
It was from people who apparently haven't read a book or newspaper in their entire lives. I kept getting comments such as:
"R THOS DICKS?!"
"What the.."
"This is just odd, man.."

Felt VERY unappreciative. So I took it off for such a reason, and will probably never post one there again. (Though that doesn't mean I won't make more)

Lets just say I'm still trying to get used to animation. I'm not very good at it still. ^_^;

I bet everyone here could. XP

Thanks so much! This was the first attempt at me animating anything in the program, so it's a big plus for me that things went well. =P

Well, those are totally mind boggling comments indeed. Good decision to take it away from there and just come to a place with more sensible people. 🙂

I hear you. Whenever I'm doing an animation I'm still struggling too. Most of them have so few frames that they always look a bit shocky/unrealistic and I haven't really been able to do anything good.

When I look at it well, all you do is move the upper part slightly up and down to simulate the body movements of laughter, not even moving the mouth. The awesome thing is that it works in your picture! It does give an impression that she's laughing. So that's really working (surprisingly) well IMO. =)

damn, no sound, that sucks. too bad you can't host it on another site with the sound, the laughter was infectious. thanks again for this little gem! :cool
