Has anyone seen A Mighty Wind? Anyone like it? Not like it? I must know- that's right!

It depends on if you liked Spinal Tap or not. It's from the same team that brought us that classic. A Mighty Wind does for folk music what Spinal Tap did for rock. Christopher Guest, Micheal McKeon and Harry Shearer are in a folk group this time around and it's pretty finny. As in Spinal Tap, they wrote and performed thier tunes.

It's not side-splitting, and you might get more out of it if you're a musician, but it's worth a watch. As in Spinal Tap, the best parts are how they try to say one thing with the lyrics, but it comes out...different.

"A mighty wind is blowin', it's blowin' you and me..."

Kinda like that.

I want to see "A Mighty Wind", I'm a big fan of the "Spinal Tap" guys, especially last years "Best in Show". They also did another spoof on community theater(can't remember the name).

GREAT movie

I saw "A Mighty Wind" last month, and I LOVED it! Yes,. it was by the same crew that did Spinal Tap, and Best in Show, and it had the same cast as both films!

If you are familiar with the Folk Genre, (i.e. The Kingston Trio, The New Christie Minstrels, etc.) you will LOVE this movie, as it parodies the genre perfectly.

Harry Shearer's droning ON and ON and ON about the Mexican Revolution is worht the price of admission, but the film was great. I'd recommend it to anyone who asks.

Waiting for Guffman was the other film they did. Also a funny film (if you like that kind of thing - humor is about the most subjective artistic expression ever....)

Shearer was good, but Fred Willard was aces as the buffoonish manager! And I thought that both Eugene Levy & Cathrine O'Hara did some remarkable work bringing out both humor & pathos, a loving sadness towards one another (when they kissed on stage, and later when they both discussed the kiss, the theater that was previously filled with laughter was absolutley silent). They've been working together since the 70s, watched one another's careers peak & valley and went through the death of their good friend John Candy; they probably have an incredible emotional connection in real life that served them well in their movie roles.

2 biggest laughs in the theater the 2nd time I saw it:

Jennifer Coolidge talking about the model trains...

and Shearer, the master, hurredly saying "Goodnight everybody!" before he ever finishes said long-winded story...

(and there was a lot of other good stuff, too......)
