As the Good Guys plodded along in August, unsure of the future of the team or their players, they honestly didnt know if this would be the last season of Good Guy baseball. With the team in bankruptcy, a quick financial solution seemed out of the realm of possibility. In spite of it all, they just played on, and tried to give the best performance they could for whoever did show up each night. Unbeknownst to them, there was a billionaire Florida businessman who had made a mega fortune in real estate in Miami, and was looking for a long term investment. He liked the fact that he could own a professional baseball team and not have to pay the outrageous salaries most major league teams earned. Even if he raised the salaries to the levels the team was earning before that year's cutbacks, it would still be a bargain. His bank, which was used to extending him substanial lines of credit, authorized him to offer 200 million for the team, ballpark, and the hotel. The hotel ownership had little choice in their financial position, and had to take the offer. What's more, to keep stability, he got copies of the team's previous contracts, and offered 2 year deals at the salaries they were earning before the pay cuts. He also retained Lee Sniderman, the coaches, and hired a new GM. The new owner made it clear, he would spend, but he wanted championships. That was fine with the Good Guys, no one wanted to win more than they did. He also vowed to be a hands off owner. He was just the financial man, and would not comment on tickling, team slumps, or hiring and firing of personnel. This was a dream come true. This news shot team moral up to its highest in a long while. When they returned home, they were greeted by their new owner, as well as sell out crowds, brought on by discounted promotion tickets. The team responded, winning 9 out of 10 against Atlanta, Philly and the Mets on a week plus homestand. Good feeling was back around the Paradise Islanders for the first time all year.
On Labor day weekend, the team gathered at the hotel with it's new owner following a Saturday night win against Atlanta, with stellar pitching from Kate, Mandy, and Naomi, and a big homerun by Mitch, all in front of a sellout crowd. That night, the new PR director of the Good Guys, a pretty lady named Diane, a raven haired beauty in her early 30s, was the featured tickle victim. The new owner watched with interest as she was stripped to a bra and panties and tied spread eagled to the bed. Then, the tickle was began by the 3rd baseman, Mitch's 18 year old cousin Matt, a new addition to the team. Matt tickled her on her neck with fingers as the giggles began flowing from her: Hehehehehehehehehehehehehehe! Then, Matt moved down, tickling the attractive Diane under her arms and in her ribs and belly with fingers as she thrashed and squealed some more: Hehehehehehehehehehehehehehe! NO! NO! Working his way down, Matt tickled Diane in her inner thighs, causing her to buck. Then, finally, he got to the soles of her pretty bare feet. Matt tickled Diane's bare feet with his fingers, and then proceeded to use feathers, ice, and the ever dreaded electric toothbrush on Diane's soles and under her toes. This drove Diane beserk! She flexed, pointed and wiggled her toes every which way as the girlish squeals erupted from her and tears came to her eyes: Hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe! Oh please no more! I give up! I'm very ticklish! NO! NO! NO! Hehehahahahahaehehahahahahahahaha! Finally, the tickle was stopped, and Diane was a panting mess on the bed. She was untied and then fixed herself.
After Diane's tickle, there was a huge team dinner at the hotel. The new owner was impressed by what he had seen his team do on the field, and was fascinated by their off field activities as well.
The next afternoon, the rejuvnated Paradise Islanders beat Atlanta again, this time with an 8th inning homerun by Mitch, lights out relief from Naomi, and stellar starting pitching. Things were turning around, and the era of good feeling was back. Would it continue? stay tuned for the continuing adventures of the Tickle Team from Paradise Island.
