Do you think it's possible the terrorists are poisoning our food as a subtle attack on us now? All these outbreaks of samonella poisoning..now with processed peanut butter..I truly believe they won't use planes again, but that's just an idea i had..

nope. all the peanut butter thing is just cheap bastards trying to cut corners in their business. the peanut butter in question is designed for other use, not to be jarred and sold as is. this stuff is put in various snacks and such, so it's gotta be cheap, but these people cut too many corners and caused this.

Terrorism is not at work here, but on that note, there'd be far more casualties by poisoning a city's water supply, and the water supplies are alot less guarded and checked for cantaminants.

I agree with Norm here. The food problem is companies just being cheap either by ignoring their own Q&A results or allowing illegal aliens who have no medical screening to work at their plants. I am one who usually defends our economic system. I am no jump on the bandwagon socialist, yet I also know that companies are cheap bastards who will act like a two-year old if they think that they can get away with it.

No, I am more concerned that the next terrorist attacks will be more something like the brush fires in Victoria.

Hehe, well with an ever increasing population buying bottled and using otherwise filtered water, that may no longer be much of a threat. That's kind of sad to say, but when you think about it...

Anyway, this reminded me of Lewis Black's rant on water during his Broadway performance.

Who needs terrorism when you've got good old-fashioned American incompetence and cheapness?

it was obviously the terrorists' fault that all the lack of discretion in meat processing occurred during the industrial period! damn those terrorists during the late 1800s-early 1900s!

uh hardy har har...

and that peanut company, by being el cheapo...have now filed for bankruptcy..

And those terrorists who worked at Jack in the Box in the early 90s putting Escherichia coli into meat that then made people puke their guts out for a week.

Fuckin' terrorists with their time traveling Borg cube going back and putting whoopie cushions on John Adams and Thomas Jefferson's chairs. Goddamn assholes getting in the DeLorean and causing the Great Chicago Fire.

Fuckers. They beat up H.G. Wells and stole his time machine so that they could go back and pull the king's hat down right before he signed the Magna Carta.

Fuckin' terrorists making people think that everything is terrorism.

Oh wait, that's Bush who did that.

PS: Greatest ad hominem attack EVAR.

Shit people, wake up! Terrorists are FUCKING NOBODY! OVER 10 COUNTRIES (INCLUDING THE USA) have the capacity to KILL BILLIONS of people by just giving authorization and waiting 15 TO 30 MINUTES! Yet we're worried about some jackass who lives in a cave in the fucking desert?

And for good reason. These jackasses who live in a cave in the desert have the capability to launch a biological attack that could kill the bulk of the population of the Earth. They could explode a dirty bomb that spreads uranium or other such nasty substances.

There's a lot that these tards can do.

I think our biggest worry should be cowards getting electro magnetic pulse technology and detonating one over the continental U.S. We would be utterly and completely screwed. Mass chaos with no means of communication. I think that would be more devastating than any other attacks.

This is a very true point, Jimmy.

There are many people out in the world who just aren't very nice people. Yes, most certainly some are right here, but there are many of them out there just as well. So you really can't take your eye of anyone these days.

Whatever. Do you seriously believe the middle eastern cowards have these capabilities, and haven't used them yet? Laughable.

No. Otherwise they would have shot us with their phasers and death rays from the orbiting Terrorist Space Station, launched from Terrorist Space Shuttles.

It's actually extremely difficult to poison a public water supply. A well, possibly, but not a whole network. The volume of water is huge. To get any toxin to dangerous levels, you'd have to pump it in from multiple tanker trucks... which is hard to organize and carry out without somebody noticing.

Which reminds me, in his entire 8 years in office, George Dubya never managed to catch Osama Bin Laden. Now, I know that Osama and Dubya were business partners in the 1970's, but I don't suppose that could have had anything to do with it, do you?

THIS is what is going to be the end of us

Since it's impossible to tell from text whether you're sincere or not, I'll provide both responses. In the event you are:

Thank you, I try.

If you're not:

Irreverence is like a shiny bauble for certain people.

If Bush was still President, the gov't probably would have tried to spin this as a possible terrorist attack, maybe even arresting some schmuck that had nothing to do with it, to continue to put fear in the hearts of Americans while making them believe that infringing on their rights (monitoring bank accounts, random phone taps, more cameras than people on the streets) is justified since it's helping catch "terrorists."

But Obama is President and last I heard the Patriot Act was still intact, Guantanamo Bay is still open, etc. Bush left office peacefully, there was no coup to keep him in power. Washington is not black nor is it white, it's all politics. The Democrats bashed the War on Terror so long as it got them into office. And no, I disagree that Bush would have spun this as a terrorist attack that is nonsense. Hate Bush on his policies all you want but don't attack like a third grader.

"Sometimes we disagreed with the intelligence assessment. There were times when some people in the administration were really aggressive about raising the threat level, and we said, 'For that?!'"Former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge, May 2005

May 19 - 27, 2002
The Threat: Dick Cheney kicks off Memorial Day weekend by calling a new Al Qaeda strike "almost a certainty — it could happen tomorrow." FBI Director Robert Mueller adds, "There will be another terrorist attack." The FBI warns of strikes on the Brooklyn Bridge and the Statue of Liberty.

The Reality: The administration "made a political decision" to make public all threats — even those from "hoaxers," says a retired CIA counterterrorism expert. "The amount of chatter hasn't changed in volume," adds a defense official. As for the New York threats, "There really isn't any hard information," declares the former head of the FBI bureau in New York.

The Real News: The administration's failures in preventing 9/11 were under the microscope: Bush acknowledged receiving a briefing titled "Bin Laden Determined to Strike in U.S." a month before the attacks; the FAA said it had failed to alert airlines of the arrest of would-be hijacker Zacarias Moussaoui; the FBI admitted it had ignored a pre-9/11 warning that Al Qaeda had infiltrated American flight schools.

September 10, 2002

The Threat: Bush personally announces the first nationwide Orange Alert. Cheney flees to a "secure location" as Ashcroft warns that Al Qaeda appears to be targeting "transportation and energy sectors."

The Reality: There was no specific threat against any American target.

The Real News:
The heightened terror alert went into effect just in time for the president's address to the nation from Ellis Island on the first anniversary of 9/11.

June 14, 2004

The Threat: A shopping mall in Columbus, Ohio, is threatened by Al Qaeda bomber. "The American heartland was targeted for death and destruction," Ashcroft declares.

The Reality: The Somali suspect whose indictment Ashcroft trumpeted had been in custody for seven months. The charges against him made no mention of a shopping mall.

The Real News: John Kerry leads Bush by seven points in early Ohio polling.

June 23, 2006

The Threat: Miami-based terrorists plotting to topple the Sears Tower. "These homegrown terrorists may prove to be as dangerous as groups like Al Qaida," says Alberto Gonzales.

The Reality: FBI Deputy Director John Pistole terms plot, "more aspirational than operational." Suspects armed to the teeth — with paintball guns — attempted to secure Al Qaeda funds at local 7-11.

The Real News: Abu Musab Al Zarqawi had been killed days earlier — removing the villain who was then America's poster boy of terror.

Also, there's this.
