Sorry if this has been asked, but i was looking through my old posts and threads, and noticed that many of my older threads and posts are no longer to be found..just wondering, why is this? Will it clog up things too much to keep them all? thanks...and sorry again if this has been asked before..

my oldest post stems from this year, and my oldest thread from late 2005, and i know i've started threads previous to that date, and ditto for the posts..

Over 200,000 posts were deleted (in what I call the Great Pruning) in December 2004. Many of your old posts may have gone then.

Hmmm,i asked a question about who was the first member, and first poster, and Ann found something going back to 2001,when the forum in its current form began.I'm sure a mod could tell you whats going on.

Occasionally threads are removed, at user request, because of a flamewar or similar isue, or because of, say, having content in them that is not permitted (A forbidden producer or minor content, for instance). These threads are preserved, not outright deleted, so that they can be reviewed if need be later. However, only administrators and moderators can see these removed threads. Thus while your postcount may reflect the removed threads and/or posts, you won't be able to see them anymore.

Posts going back to the first day are still here on the forum.

Have you set your view for the forum to be only 'one year' and not all? That would cover why you can only see one year back.

hmm if i did, it was unintentional, as i was unaware of such an option..i'll look at my options now...thank you and that would definitely explain it..

thank you also HDS..always helpful...

When you list all of your posts, like from your profile for example, what it's really doing is a search for all posts on the forum made by the user with your name; and I think the search function stops after finding five thousand results, so that's probably it.

yes that's the way i was doing it..i was curious as to how my older posts read as opposed to today's...i was hoping they changed for the better..so i was going to my profile, and clicking on see all threads started by...does that make sense? and the oldest thread was listed as in late 2005, and i know i had threads earlier than that..and my oldest post dates from this year..

thanks
