Any ideas why we share a interest in tickling? Is it a childhood thing or some weird stimulus and response psychology thing. I don't know if this has been brought up before. I'm sure some college professor has done a study on the subject. I take comfort in knowing many people share my tickling interest around the world. Fellow member's input is greatly appreciated.

I strongly suspect you'll get two totally different classes of answers from 'lees versus 'lers, as I believe they are two different "kinks" (in a good way).
Speaking as a 'lee: I like the personal contact (favorite tickle-toy is somebody else's fingers 🙂), I love how it feels when gentle and playful, I like giving up control for a while.

I totally agree with strtbottomjim in that you will get two kinds of answers (one set from the 'lers and the other from the 'lees).
Maybe you could set up a poll and get as many people to answer.

However, although I am dominant, I don't go for physically hurting a lady, so more intense domination activities, such as whipping and spanking aren't my cup 'o tea.
I see tickling as a happy medium - dominating someone, but not physically hurting them.

i think you'll find a lot more than 2 perspectives! i am both, a ler, and a lee! as the ler, i have no interest in the domination aspect. i love the laughter, the contact, the sensuality of the sceen.
as a lee, i do like to feel helpless in the hands of a woman. to see her smiling face, to feel her ripping the laughter from me. both are highly sexual, and something to be shared, and savored to me.

Let Me Break It Down!
I didn't major in Psy, so I can't break it down that way, but I will let you know what I love so much about tickling.
Why do I love tickling?
A guy once told me that part of the allure of tickling was the thought of having a woman`s hands stroking all over his body. It may sound really weird to you, but to me, when it come to a man tickling me, I have to say that sometimes I feel the same.
I love tickling for so many reasons beyond the fact that it is fun, that it makes me laugh, and it feels great too!
Now I am well able to seperate the fun platonic tickles from the intimate tickles (that I choose to reserve for the one I love), but I will still break it down for you a little further.
To me, as I am sure it is to some of you as well, tickling is an intimate practice, another unique way for someone to express affection. When my man tickles me I can`t help but think of the closeness of it, the sweetness of it. I mean, it kind of makes me feel sexy in a way, because here is this guy who finds my body, the sound of my laughter so irresistible that he can`t stop. That is what makes me love tickling. The attraction, the affection, the sense of desire, the warm touch... WOW! How can anyone NOT be aroused by that?
I can understand why some people can`t stand being tickled. Some ticklish spots even on me are overwhelming, but I still can`t resist it. And sometimes I can get excited from tickling. Even if it lasts for just a second, this pleasant warmth begins to pulsate through my body. I start longing for just another touch. The feeling is almost immediate.
It is so wonderful because tickling can be a million light caresses softly teasing one`s body or it can be quick, torturous and powerful forcing maniacal breathless laughter. It doesn`t matter. The effect on me is just as strong.
And if I am ever fortunate enough to actually find someone who loves me and feels the same way about tickling than it would be a dream come true...a fantasy turned into a reality.

Just a matter of time and effort SunRise...there's a LOT of us out there, and I still truly believe we are a growing % of the population, thanks to the internet and sites such as this allowing people to conceptualize their "vague" feelings about activities such as tickling. 😉 Q The Optimistic!

Its all a mystery to me. I had bondage and tickling fantasies

I think that it's something I either inherited, or which was forced on me by the attentions of the person I think I might have 'inherited' it from. It's definetly something to do with dominance way down in the back of the subconscious, but I think the fact that it's tickling rather than...say...violence probably says something about me as a person.
I was abused as a very young child, and I have dim recollections of tickling being a big part in that, so I think on some very basic level the same mental processes that enabled me as a young child to 'will' myself not to be ticklish any more are in some way connected to the tickling I associate with sex.
This is just my personal theory, and I'm sure there's many different ways, but I really feel my fetish is a response to both a genetic propensity and various outside influences during my most formative of stages.
