A co-worker of mine was telling me that he can't understand why girls always tell him " i would love to date a guy like you" when he is with someone but when he is single and they are single. They go after someone else. Can someone please explain the logic in this. I think I know why but I would like to know if anyone has any ideas about it.

Why would these girls say this to him especially since they knew he liked them. To me, that is just cruel.

I think that's their backwards way of saying, "I'm not interested, and I'm going to try and say it in a way that sounds like a compliment and gives you false hope."

Do they see him as just a friend? It could be that they don't want to ruin the friendship by dating him but want a guy who treats his girlfriends as well as he does.

I have a male friend who I think the same way about. He and I did go out on one date together and we realized that we're just friends, but he's a great guy, a perfect gentleman and I wish I could find like him.

Isn't he not getting it loud and clear? It means, he must do the move when they are both available. *&^%$#@!

hmmm maybe. games...games...games. you just gotta love the games. According to him they were too busy hanging with other guys for even a move to be made.

Don't you ladies know that it isn't a compliment but a slap in the guys's face when you say..."I would..but.." that's like saying " I would love oranges if you didn't have to peel them, and they weren't orange colored, or did'n't have that flavor to it."

Oh nooo000... maybe you didn't get what I mean. My statement is not about games.

Generally this phrase is uttered by a woman who's thinking aloud in a wistful fashion, wishing she could bring herself to date "nice" guys, instead of being hurt by the kind of man she's attracted to.

There's always a catch.

You can always tell what a country's population holds important by the kind of people they date and interact with. Needless to say, this country prefers beauty over brains/personality.

On the other side of the nice guy vs. douchebag war, there is usually something the 'nice guys' can do to make themselves more appealing to the fairer sex. Be it exercise, or simply being more confident, I think it's fair of them to try and meet the ladies half way.
