So recently I had a couple of Lovenox shots (low density heparin) which were suddenly a subject of great debate when the two PA's at the clinic could not agree on whether or not Lovenox was safe for H.I.T. Patients. I received my first one in january. It bruised like crazy, the bruise is still about 4 in in diameter and black. The cardiologist hat performed my cath last week didnt seem alarmed by it so I was hit again with the Lovenox, not 2 inches from the bruise from the first. That spot bruised a little but started fading in a few days. Suddenly the first injection site bruise has decided to conquer new territory. I have name the bruise Alexander the Great, but he needs to go
I know some bruising is normal with warfarin use but I dont think the bruises are supposed to be slaughtering the masses in a fight for world domination. How should I vanquish this epidermal conquerer? Ice, heat pack? Punching? Switchblade?
