My dear friend cb passed away on December 16, in his sleep.

Most of you have probably come across the amazing tickling art of a fellow who went by the nick cb, even if you didn't realize it was his. He was an incredible artist, a wonderful man and the main reason I met my soon-to-be-husband ShemthePenman. cb and I met in the #tickling channel on Dalnet in IRC a few years ago, where he was running the channel. He tried to be fair but firm, and always had a wonderful sense of humor. His tickling art blew me away, and his gentle soul under his tough Southern exterior endeared me to him. He 'left' the channel to me to run when he needed a break over a year ago, and filling his shoes has not been easy.

I'm sure that wherever there is a cache of great tickling pictures on the web, you'll find some of cb's in there. I am particularly saddened that since I upgraded my computer and lost almost all of my files, I can't even attach anything of his here. Maybe one or more of you will in his memory.

For the last couple of years he had pretty much kept to himself and would not be online much, but we would talk on the phone or IRC occasionally, and we talked at least a week before he passed. His death was sudden but peaceful, and his daughter was letting his remote friends know by replying to his e-mail. For any of you who remember cb, say a little prayer of whatever kind for him, and hope that he's tickling all the angels he can get his hands on.

We will miss you, my friend.

My condolences...

Loss is always difficult to deal with...I've seen his work, but never had the pleasure of a chat/convo. He lives on through his creations and your memories, and we are the poorer for the passing of any of our brethren in tickling. Q

Wow...

My sincerest condolences to CB's friends and family.
I chatted with him alot in Dalnet's Tickling chatroom. He was a great person of class and deserving of respect and kindness. He will be missed.
Please send my condolences on to his family and all who knew him.

Sincerely,

TTD

🙁 well i have seen some of his art and I wish i met they guy and im sorry for your loss

I remember chatting with CB several times but lost touch with him about a year back. Thanks for passing on the information about his passing. God Speed CB!

I just talked to Nitefall. It was NOT CBaker. It was the Other CB.

Deeply saddened by the loss of CB

Nightfall...I too met CB through IRC and ICQ, NTC. He always warmed my heart and soul. One of the few genuine gentlemen I have met through tickling chat. CB and I spent so many hours chatting and confiding in each other. I lost touch with CB about a year or so ago, he was so kind and supporting when I adopted my son. I was shocked when I saw this post. So many times over the last year I have thought about him. I will deeply miss him. He is in my thoughts and prayers. My condolences to all his loved ones and friends.

CB, Rest well my friend.

Love always
JPie

condolences

CB's was some of the first tickle art I came across when I first discovered the online tickle community back in '95. This is really sad news. Was he sick?

My prayers and thoughts go out to his family and friends

Terrible News

I wrote to CB about ten years ago, and in those couple of letters I thought he was a great guy. His art is classic and believe will long live in the tickle community. I regarded CB on a par with Mandell and BAC as one of the best tickle artists in the world. This is terrible news for the community, and I can only take solace in the thought that he went as peacefully as one can slip into the other side... One can only hope there is tickling in Heaven, for if there is, one will hear the laughter now if we just sit still and listen to the wind....God Bless CB, you gave this person some joy in life, and in the end, that is what matters.....It will be hard to realize there will no longer be any new additions to his wonderful illustrations, but I trust the good Lord will replace him with an equally talented squire. God rest ye CB.

I am deeply saddened by this news, CB was one of the great artists in our community. My sympathies go out to all of his friends and family.

I had the honor to correspond with CB for a short period of time during the early days of the "Morandilas's Ticklers Journal" his artistic style truly captured the fantasy aspects of tickle torture illustrations. I had been a fan of his art for years and considered him one of my major inspirations for "Tales from the Asylum" magazine.

CB was kind enough to do two custom illustrations promoting "Morandilas's Ticklers Journal" Here is a link to the one I still possess...

A large number of cb's pictures have been posted to a.m.t. as of early this morning, in case anyone wants to look again or discover him for the first time. I must admit I'm surprised at how many classic pictures I didn't realize were his....

I would also like to express my condolences to CB's family and friends. I didn't know him personally, but he was an early contributor to this community and his work was greatly appreciated.

Farewell and Godspeed.

Special thanks to ticklechgo from AMT for providing the missing 2nd illustration.

My condolences to all of you who knew him, and to his family.

Boy, I hate this...

I am not good with praises or condolences. So, hear goes my best.

It is sad to see one of "us" leaving. Especially because this is such a face-less community. I wish I had had the chance to meet the guy and share more.

Heck, when I go to greener pastures (I hope), perhaps nobody will be notified because nobody knows that I get into this forum. 🙁

I should probably put a clause in my will to notify a specific group of people of my passing away.

Anyway, he was a great contributor with tickling art and a great guy, as far as I can tell. I am glad that he left us in his sleep and not with a painful and degrading illness.

May his next life be great and filled with love and happiness.

With regards,

Knight Tickler

This really is bad news. He had such an eye for deatil, and the expressions...the 'dialog"... it was like a poetry all its own. I'm going to miss CB.........
