A Ticklish Situation- Chapter One (Anime Fanfiction)

CHAPTER ONE

Mai Tokiha sighed deeply as she stared across the oceans vast, rippling waters. She would have given anything to be able to join the many different ocean goers, to swim with them and have fun, but the girl didn’t come to the ocean to have fun. Her eyes fell on some kids who were swimming even further out into the ocean.

“Bring it back in you guys!” She ordered, using a microphone she had been given.

The kids gave her dirty looks, but turned around and started swimming back towards the beach. Mai leaned back in her chair. “How much longer do I have to do this?” She wondered, glancing at her wristwatch. Her eyes widened slightly. “Oh… I don’t.” She said, realizing her time as lifeguard was up.

The girl could barely contain her excitement as she climbed down the wooden ladder. Just as her sandal clad feet touched the white sands of the beach she heard the unmistakable sound of Mikoto Minagi. “MAI!” Mikoto shouted, jumping into the air, wrapping her arms tightly around Mai’s neck.

With a loud cry Mai and Mikoto fell onto the oceans sands. “MAI! MAI! MAI!” Mikoto laughed and nuzzled close to Mai, who’s cheeks were growing bright red. She could only imagine how many people on the beach were watching them right now.

“That’s enough Mikoto!” Mai said, trying to sound as stern as possible. “Get off me right now!” She ordered.

“You two look happy.” Came the voice of Chie Harada. Mai glanced over her shoulder. Through the pieces of Mikoto’s hair she could see Chie hold her up her cell phone and take a photo. “This will go straight to my blog!” The girl declared.

“Don’t you dare!” Mai cried, trying to wrestle Mikoto off her. “Mikoto!”

Mikoto stopped giggling and opened her eyes. “Mai… You don’t seem very happy you know that?” The girl began. “I like it better when you’re laughing and smiling.” She said.

“I know…” Mai said, annoyed. “Chie will you give me a hand here?”

“Sure!” Chie bent down behind Mikoto. “Hey Mikoto? You say you like seeing Mai smiling and laughing right?” She asked.

Mikoto nodded. “Of course.”

“You know the surefire way to make her smile and laugh?” Chie asked. Mikoto shook her head. “You have to find out where she’s ticklish and tickle her there!”

“Oh!” Mikoto said, happily.

“WHAT!?” Mai cried.

Mikoto turned to Mai. “Don’t worry Mai I’m going to get you smiling and laughing in no time!” Mai tried to protest, but before she could Mikoto had dug her fingers into Mai’s ribs and started tickling. Mai screamed loudly before a stream of giggles erupted from her lips.

Mai laughed hysterically and beat her fists against the sand, she rolled as hard as she could left and right and tried to buck Mikoto off, but it was impossible. Mikoto wasn’t the heaviest girl Mai had ever met, but she was the strongest.

Chie giggled as she grabbed Mai’s left foot. Pulling the sandal off she began tickling the naked sole. She raked her fingers up and down the foot, dug her index finger between each of her toes and than attacked the arches with her index finger.

Mai’s laughter grew louder and more desperate. “K-KNOCK IT OFF!” She cried, but the girl was laughing so hard that her words came out jumbled and hard to understand.

Chie giggled even louder as she began scratching the heel of Mai’s foot. “You see? This is the fastest way of making someone laugh and smile.”

“You’re right!” Mikoto said, nodding. The girl moved her hands and began tickling Mai’s sides. The girl giggled as Mai’s body lifted into the air and fell back to the sand. Mikoto wriggled her fingers into Mai’s exposed underarms and began tickling the tender hollows, but just as she started Mai pulled her arms down and held them tightly to her sides.

“STOP!” Mai cried.

“Alright.” Chie said, freeing Mai’s foot. “Come on Mikoto.” She said, placing a firm hand on top of the girl’s head.

Mikoto glanced up and in a sad tone said, “but I’m not done making Mai smile and laugh.”

“Yeah? If you tickle her anymore she’ll start crying.” Chie warned.

Mikoto nodded and got off Mai’s back.

“Thanks Chie.” Mai said, angrily. The girl got to her feet and headed towards the changing rooms.

“Don’t mention it!” Chie said, laughing and waving to Mai.

Several minutes later Mai was garbed in her regular, street clothes. “I still have time.” Mai said, making sure she wasn’t late for her next job. The girl ran as fast as she could down a long street and than up a flight of steps. Directly in front of her was a bus stop. “Oh damn.” The girl cursed, lightly tapping the side of her head. “Stupid Chie and Mikoto made me miss the bus.” The girl cursed under her breath.

The girl looked away from the signpost. She couldn’t afford being late for work. She had no choice, but to run for it.

Mai started running as fast as she could down the street, but stopped when she spotted a dirty road cutting through a large forest. The road seemed to be heading in the direction she needed to go.

“That could…” Mai thought, to herself. A smile creased the girls lips. “Maybe my lucks changing already.” She said, as she started down the dirt road.
