Howdy y'all! It's me again, your old buddy, Double T, and since my Thanksgiving day thread was so well recieved :zzzzz: I thought a Christmas one ws in order. So......

What is or are your favorite T.V. Christmas special(s)?

I would have to say, "A Christmas Carol" with Alistair Sim. I watch it every year, along with other re-makes of this tale. "Scrooge" with Albert Finney was good, and I laughed (And got a little teary-eyed) over "Scrooged" with Bill Murray. I was very dissapointed, however, when the man I figured would make an excellent Ebeneezer Scrooge, Patrick Stewart, left me flat. 🙁 Oh, well!

Speaking of remakes (Doesn't this guy EVER shut up?), I can always catch "Mr. Magoo's Christmes Carol.", since I taped it years ago! I love the song "We're Despicable" By the undertaker, maid, washer woman, and money lender. And the Ghost of Christmas yet to come? And the scene where Magoo was left alone in the graveyard? That used to scare the H*** out of me as a kid :scared: Also, can ANYONE tell me what the  Raselberry dressing is???

So those are my favorites. What are some of yours?

"It's A Wonderful Life" with Jimmy Stewart. directed by Frank Capra, is my all-time favorite Christmas film.

Hiya DT! I too watch "A Christmas Carol" every Christmas, with the lights out and a mug of hot chocolate, as a ritual.
I also love Rudolph and The Grinch.

I would like to take this time to say "Happy Holidays" to all the people in the TMF. :santasmil

"It's a Wonderful Life" and "Miracle on 34th Street" and "A Christmas Carol" are my favorites. I love to watch just about any Christmas show with a good cup of hot tea, a warm fire, the Christmas Tree all aglow with silvery lights flickering.
Ah, Life is Grand Indeed!

I too am a fan of the Alistair Sim version...(I own a copy and sometimes watch it in the middle of the summer)

For my yearly dose of Smaltz, however, It's got to be White Christmas with Bing crosby...it was always one of dad's favorites and brings back fond memories of the holiday seasons growing up....

It's a Wonderful Life, Jimmy Stewart
Mircle of 34th Street
last but not least

White Christmas, Bing Crosby!
Snuggled up by the fire, lights out with a nice warm cup of coco with marshmallows. Aaahhhhhh yes!🙂

Hmmm, let's see.....

White Christmas
The Littlest Angel (the movie, not the cartoon)
The Man in the Santa Claus Suit
The Greatest Story Ever Told
Scrooged

There are others. But, those are the best.

Ann

I like the Disney version of "A Christmas Carol." 🙂

Also, the Lethal Weapon movie that starts out with the scene in the Christmas tree lot always puts me into that Holiday mood, too. 😛

Yeah, all those movies are great. George C. Scott is also pretty good as Scrooge, don't you think? No one's mentioned him! Shame on you all. 😀

Always get a kick out of "National Lampoons Christmas Vacation"
Also, "Santa Claus, The Movie", where Dudley Moore plays an elf,
and even though it's more of a Thanksgiving movie, "Planes, Trains and Automobiles".

Drew😉
