I learned something in my Abnormal Psychology class today that might be of interest to many of you.
When a person suffers a trauma that results in PTSD(Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) they lose a significant amount of endorphins. This loss makes it difficult, at best, for the brain to release them naturally. That is why so many people with PTSD turn to drugs and alcohol.
I sat there in amazement listening to this. That totally explains that while I hate the act of being tickled, I love it as well. That release is something my body craves and needs.
Something to think about.
