My freaking gawd I just found a brown recluse in my shoe! The thing built a web in my shoe! Spiders ugh *shudders* Folks, remember to check your shoes before you put them on down here!!! Sipders, Scorpions, centipedes!

Good thing you didn't get bitten. I believe that Brown Recluses are very high up on the poison scale. Not pleasant.

I hate spiders very much. You were very fortunate as HDS mentioned, Brown Recluses are one of 3 arachnids in the USA poisonous to man (BRs, Black Widows, and Scorpions). They do have a violin shape and are sometimes known as fiddler spiders Their bites result in severe tissue damage, degenerating the cells, often leaving scared tissue around the bite area that can last for years.

But yes, brown recluses are very very poisonous. Basically the venom causes gangrene or however you spell it, basically it rots the flesh where you were bitten and spreads throughout the body. Yes, they are deadly. And in response to everything, I don't care about crap, or mice, just not spiders, let alone a poisonous one! luckily, it made a web in my shoe, so I was kinda clued in it was around. Freaked me out to no end! just to note, tarantula's or however you spell it are poisonous to man as well, just rare that it turns deadly.

My sister got bitten by a brown reculse. It causes major skin damage, and what's wierd about it, in some cases you don't know you're bitten, or you don't know what bit you, until quite a bit of damage has been done.

But Pawz, you never need to wear shoes around me........

Back when I wanted a spider as a pet, petco, petsmert, and a couple local pet stores told me that their bites wernt posionious, just painful. After hearing I wanted a snake or spider, my parents stopped saying that I could have anything I wanted, so problem solved. Good thing you wernt bitten!

Some of them kept as pets have had their venom removed. However they are poisonous, so they told you wrong
