Yes, Marilyn was indeed hot. I would definitely not consider her fat, she was curvy and gorgeous and infinitely more sexy than most of the anorexic-looking models of modern day. I did a few really good charcoal portraits of her. She led a tragic life though, like many of the old starlets. I also love Rita Hayworth, Veronica Lake, Grace Kelly and Greta Garbo...

Curvy and fame don't mix these days

What's sad to me is how few names we have for beautiful, curvaceous women these days. There are some drop dead gorgeous models and actresses well over size 6 who simply don't have the fame of their more angular peers. Heck, I remember reading a thread similar to this one where they brought up Kathy Bates for comparison-she's a lovely woman but that just wasn't the type of beauty being discussed. For instance, Liv Tyler has a sister who looks just like her except she's a size 10/12. She models for Mode magazine and a few others and her figure is just stunning. She reminds me of the kind of voluptous girls we used to see in the media-the kind that basically vanished, I'm still not sure why...

A few other curvaceous actresses that I like, and I think, are some of the most beautiful women in the world: Drew Barrymore, Kate Winslet, Jennifer Tilly.

Thanks, again, m'dear, all of those ladies are quite lovely. I can't imagine passing any over for a second look. Just wish they had their feet showing in their shots. LOL. And I also like your hubby's characterization of the regular and minus-sized models. I think I'll use it, if I may. 😀
