about posting links..

i've noticed that people seem to be able to post a link just by typing here with an underline thingie..or like hmmm mywebpage with that same underline..how do they do that? i can't even find my under line thingie on my computer...do you understand what i mean? instead of posting the actual link for the website...it's either something like the word "here" underlined..or hmm like myspace...underlined also...how do you do that? and is it horribly complicated? thanks in advance..

The underline is added by vBulletin. To post links formatted in the normal way click to make a new post/thread as usual. Look for a small green/blue globe with a paperclip at the bottom right of it. It is on the second row of icons above the text area and just below the smilie face. You now have two options:

-First, type the name you want the link to appear as. If, say, you want to link to Yahoo! and you want the link text to be "Yahoo!", type "Yahoo!" and then highlight it (Click and hold at the "Y" and drag across to the "!"). Now click the icon mentioned above and type the address (In this case, http://www.yahoo.com). Click okay. Code will appear, linking your text.

OR

-Click the icon mentioned above. Type in your link address. Click okay. Text will appear in the text box. Look for the copy of the link between the two URL brackets. Edit that text to be what you want the link name to be. In other words ...
