I am trying to save up money to move to california I have two jobs that might help me do it how expensive is it to live in Los Angeles, there is a possibility of a third job that would allow me to move out there, but I need advice from people who have are actually living there now.

Have you googled the cost of living in LA? Have you looked at apartment sites in the areas which
interest you, such as apartmentfinder.com?

I don't know because I don't know which part of Los Angeles you are researching.

A quick search on apartmentfinder.com shows that apartments in North Hollywood range from
$800 studios to $4500 apartments. Your best bet is to do some research and determine what
you want in an apartment and what you can afford. You can call complexes and get the phone
numbers for utility companies, and call those to get rough estimates on monthly utilities like
water and electricity.

One thing you need to consider as well is not just the apartment prices bit also the general cost of living. Gas prices here are about $4:50 a gallon at least as of about a week ago. Electricity rates are about 12.5 cents a Kilowatt hour. A pretty high rate compared to many places in the country and North Hollywood is in the San Fernando Valley so it get hot in the summer. That means lots of AC and big electric bills. Of course CA sales tax is I believe the highest in the nation now. These things are other factors you need to consider.

If you want to move to LA i think you should check out los feliz or silver lake, both pretty close to north hollywood and great neighborhoods

London is the same, to rent a 1 bedroom apartment is about on average £600 per week but that is just the tip of the iceberg, everything else such as utilities, council tax, food and even the price of a pint is about 35-40% more than the national average. Then to add insult to injury you have to pay for on street parking permits and if it's central London then there is a congestion charge for driving your car!

It depends on where you want to live. West Los Angeles is hugely expensive; Hollywood or the Mid-City has more variety in terms of prices. You mentioned North Hollywood, which is in the San Fernando Valley. In general, rents in the Valley are cheaper across the board than in the rest of the city (in the sense that, say, a two bedroom apartment there will probably be cheaper than a two bedroom apartment of comparable quality in the rest of the city).

North Hollywood specifically has a pretty wide range. Their are older buildings that date back to the 1950s and 60s where you could probably get a 1 bedroom in the $1,000-$1,200 per month range. The neighborhood has also been gentrifying for the past decade or so, and there are plenty of renovated lofts and industrial spaces that could easily go for two to three times that. It's also a bit of an uneven area in terms of crime and overall quality of the area. Like I said, it's gentrifying and has the typical symptoms that come with that.

Anyway, I'm actually a native of the Valley and lived there for about 99% of my life so far before moving a year ago; so I know it pretty well. Feel free to ask any other questions you may have about the area.

Los Angeles. You want to tickle girls? That's where its at. The dungeons, the scene (people who are also into tickling and throw parties, events, ect.) Clubs which allow tickling and welcome it. Go there dude. Or Berkeley where they got Fantasy Makers and a more...intense scene.

I might recommened going outside of LA (maybe in the thirty to forty mile range) Like an earlier poster said, the Valley would be a great place to live. Cheaper and alot quiter then LA.
