After Thanksgiving Update ^___^

Hope you all had a great thanksgiving yesterday. 🙂

1.) Wazzup!

This is just a silly, quick little doodle I drew a while ago. You remember that "waaaaaaaazuuuupp!" phrase that was popular for a while several years ago and they made commericials for it too? Well it just popped in my mind and felt like making a crazy picture of it. Thats pretty much it. Drawn in MS Paint.

2.) Sassy Sister

Here's another one of Prier (La Pucelle: Tactics) sticking her tongue out. Prier may be a nun, but that doesn't stop her from being herself. This is of course an oekaki drawing, and it was drawn and colored in basic MS Paint.


3.) The Challenge

What would the adventures be like for Azalyn without the occasional challenge?

This is my original character, Azalyn, for one of my mangas. ^__^ You've seen her before in some rough sketches, but this would be the first time I've really fleshed her out. I may make some minor changes later, probably with her costume.

Drawn and colored in Painter 9 with my tablet. I highly recommend viewing the picture at it's full-size if your browser resizes it, so you can see all the details.

I would have uploaded these thanksgiving day, but I was busy, so its just as good that it was the following day. Sort of like those after thanksgiving special sales. 😀

This is Littlebighead, CE. Hope you don't mind if I repeat my comments verbatum from the TTC. I still have the document I used to compose them, and it is easier than writing something new (I'm leaving in my error, by the way... not really fair for me to alter history):

Three very different pictures, in tone and style. "Wassup!" has a pleasantly anarchic, go-to-hell tone! Quite chaotic and in-your-face (best indicated by the bared-claws insanity of that aggressive cat!) "Sassy Sister" is quite impudent too, but in a more focused, less sketchy way. The colors are quite intense, with an oil-based richness. That's also true for your portrait of Azalyn, the most polished of the three. This is a very good picture! The dimensional quality is excellent (plenty of dramatic highlighting to create convincing texture; very good skin-tones, with just the proper amount of blush; a nice separation between the figure and the cast-off cloak). Good, rich complimentary secondary colors (I always favor secondaries, as they're more pleasingly complex). And the painting is very well focused! It's clear we've caught the girl in a magical act; the bright surrounding aura, her dramatic pose and her determined expression indicate dire action. Her focused attention well suggests an out-of-frame menace, directing viewer attention that way as well. Azalyn possesses a bright, if formidable, innocent purity. If this reflects its general quality, your manga will be something truly special!
