Album cover artist Storm Thorgenson dies at 69.

Thorgensen created some of the most iconic album covers to come out of the 1960s and 1970s, working with Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin and other artists. R.I.P.

The list of album covers that he illustrated is extremely impressive! I thought the only one he'd done was 'The Dark Side of the Moon', but there's tonnes of classics on his resume. R.I.P

ah the days of "Hipgnosis" the impertinent young design shops, sadly, we shall not see their like again... alas

Album Covers... a lost art, they really lent an important element to buying and enjoying of music... sad for the young folks today... missing that experience of scattering your collection across the floor for fun.

Indeed. He was the greatest album cover artist of his time, in my opinion.

Out here in the sticks, we have at least 3 stores which carry old and newly-released vinyls. One of them sells vinyls almost exclusively!

As for Mr. Thorgerson and the concern he helped run, may they both rock in peace. Hipgnosis was ahead of its time. (David Byrne was right; MP3s are "music in pill form". Gimme vinyls or CDs!)
