Ok people. You all know how much I love bond. Some of you know that I am a part of 2 other active boards; Bond's official board, and then Viva! bond, the Fansite. Bad news. The admin of Viva! bond suddenly closed it down.. no warning.. permanently. She said she had a series of "unfortunate events" happen beyond her control and just well...shut it down.

Bond's official site sucks..all the fans know it and bond know's it.. they've said it themselves. bond actually prefer the fansites. Here is where you guys ( the comp genies) come in:

I need someone to help me build a new fansite. I wanna make a new site as well as another board. w/o paying one thing. I know its possible and I know its gonna be hard. Will you guys help me? Please?

The admin of Viva actually closed her site down and just had the message board up for a while. So that was kinda hard. I *think* I want to have a site as well as a board. Here's some content I want on the site:

Pics
Videos
Audio samples
Discography
Sheet music ( this is actually a legal issue that I'm looking into w/ the former producer of bond, and Haylie herself)

Hmm, it WILL be hard, but(t), post me a link to some fansite so I can see how it looks like, and I will try as hard as I can to make something up that will solve your problem.

actually, if u don't want a really high quality page, it's not (that) hard. Almost everything could be done with a bit of HTML knowledge, and a bit of php. Should take around a week or something like that.

About the Forum..there's 2 options.
1. Use an allready finished Board, and just copy the code. Legit of course. (easy, takes like 5 mins)
2. Make ur own board. (way more difficult)

Do you even have Webspace btw?^^;
If you don't u'd need to find someone with webspace first, or use free webspace (lycos or something....sucks =) )

Board programs like this one (vBulletin) cost money, but there are free alternatives. For example PHPBB is a good and still completely free board. There was one called InvisionBoard, but they went to a paid license only deal recently. You may still be able to download the free (and legit) old version of InvisionBoard somewhere but I am not sure as to where.

As far as the site goes that wouldn't be too hard, and you don't even need to have it done in PHP. For what you're wanting the site could be done in HTML using DreamWeaver or FrontPage even. If you want the site to be tied into the board like this site is you would need to install a portal addon which I believe ones are available for PHPBB. That would be a bit more difficult however as you would be editing templates most likely through an Administration section which can become tedious.

Finally, you're going to need some hosting for this site. I may be able to offer assistance there since I happen to have some extra resources and tis the season so they say. Hit me up on PM if you are interested.

YAY!!!! That sounds awesome! And the both the boards operate on the PHBB or whatever its called.. I know that much. 😀 But I warn you guys.. I am not the smartest at computers.. so you'll have to reallllllyyyy hold my hand through this.

ok guess what... I've already started a forum! Whooo hoo! its not open yet and it wont be until I'm completly done w/ it. I just need to add some bondified pics and themes and colors... and how do I change the name of the URL? right now its..www.1-2- free forums. com.. then the name of my forum.. I want it to be: www.*name of forum*.com

You can't change the actual URL assigned by your hosting company, but you can obtain a free domain at www.active.ws and register the URL of your new site there. Your domain will look like (site name).premium.ws, and visitors will be automatically redirected to your true URL. If you run into any problem setting it up, please send me a PM.

Ok. So I decied to ixnay the forum because my friend Jess already made one and most of the users are pretty much settled there and I dont want them to move again.
