An Odd Problem with the Date and Security Software

My computer did its time update via time.nst.gov and for some reason the time is right but the date got set back to Jan 15th and not July 15th like it should be. I corrected the date so thats ok but my security software (eset smart security) thinks it July 15th update is actually a Jan 15th update and now I am getting all these Virus Database out of date messages. Will this take care of itself next time there is an update? Or will things freak out further when it actually does get a virus update? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. 🙂

It should reset itself once it updates again. I would guess that it only thinks that the last update was on that date, so once you do another update, all should be well again. Strange that it trusts the computer time and not the time in the update itself.

It does seem to have fixed itself with the latest update. Not sure why it went back to Jan 15th. No virsues were detected.

And you are right it was strange the update said July 15th and yet the software was using the computer date to say it was updated Jan 15th.
