Does anyone know of a good program to turn a sequence of pictures into an animated file? AVI would be nice but other formats are ok to. I have a program from Mindworkshop but it does not seem to work so well.

On those rare occasions that I feel like doing stuff like that I use GIF Movie Gear. You might want to check out IrfanView. It might have an application you are looking for.

Thanks my friend. :ty: I will look into it. :yourock:

The one I use now keeps leaving a white border around part of my animations. Very frustrating.

I was lead to the ULEAD GIF Animator, an older version of which is apparently freeware: http://encoderx.co.uk/imageeditors/ (First item) It might help. I user Photoshop to make mine, but that's probably overkill for your purposes.

I actually have a copy of that. LOL 😛 It doesnt mention running on Windows XP though. Perhaps I should try it anyway. 😀

Most any program runs on Windows XP unless it is incredibly new or really, really ancient (circa early 1990s ancient). XP has features to let it run most any old program, and most new programs still work with it due to programmer unwillingness to neglect the large XP market. Give it a shot.

I will give it a whirl. Thanks again. 😀

Most old versions of Paint Shop Pro like version 7 or 8 had a free animation package in it. Newer versions dont sadly. 🙁

The ULEAD thing is not gonna work I think. It really only makes Animated Gifs and I really need to make AVI's plus I need something that can turn out professional quality animations.

Are you willing to spend money? I looked for freeware tools, but I imagine there are many professional tools, which is what it seems you need.

Freeware is nice. 🙂 I don't mind spending money though. Just as long as it about maybe 100 dollars or under. Cant really afford Adobe prices. 😛

For *.gif output: You can do that with Photoshop or Flash (also provides SWF and more) for example. Even GIMP might work but I'm not sure on that.

For *.avi output: If you're good with computers and know a little progamming language (or basics, at least) you can do it pretty easily with ffmpeg. See: Here

FinalCut can also do that, but it's pretty expensive as well.

Results from a quick Google search: (Programs should be able to do it, not tested by me.)

http://easy-image-converter.software.informer.com/ <- for gif only, probably.
http://active-gif-creator.software.informer.com/ <- same
http://magic-pic2ani.software.informer.com/ - Gif, SWF, and I dunno what else.

If all of that doesn't help you, you can send me the pictures and I'll transform them for you if you want me to.

Edit: Or if you want to save the money for PS/Flash. 😉

Kawo's ideas of Flash and Final Cut give me an idea in turn. Have you looked at Adobe Premier Elements? It has basic animation capability, and should let you make an animation and export to AVI or most any other video format. It has a free trial; download it and see if it suits you: http://www.adobe.com/products/premiereel/

Thanks Kawo. :ty: I will check them out.

Premier Elements is actually a very good idea. It is in my price range too I think. I will check it out on Amazon.

Thanks HDS. :ty: :yourock: :bowing:

Unfortunately Adobe Premiere Elements 7 and 8 get absolutely horrible reviews from people. So I guess I will keep looking.
