Technical q pls: I used to have these avi's and seen them with an older 486 machine (and viewer). Now,i have the most recent divx player (no updates available) and series 9 media viewer but i get only these:
on the windows viewer, it tells me on the status bar that it seeks the codec for this, then connects to the codec server, then says error in downloading! then it plays the avi with just the audio and visualizations (no vid!).
on divx, it tells of a File Open Failure: This file contains unknown video data..."the video you are opening includes video data that is not recognized by the DivX Player. The file contains the following type of data: Video data: FOURCC code "IV41" You may need to install a new video codec on your computer to watch this video."
Quite a mouthful, sorry but I'm just confused. I used to be able to see these. Now i cannot? Thought vids from rock man (the very first site I found on the net!) can refresh mem of good 'ol days. Pls help. Thanks.
