Ross headed to his meeting with David Myer.
When Ross got to the eating place, the Matre'd took Ross to the table where David Myer was. David recognized Ross immediately, stood up, and extended his fist to Ross. The men bumped fists.
"Ross, David Myer. Good to meet you,. Thank You for having this meeting" David said in greeting.
"My pleasure" Ross said.
The men ordered refreshments, and lunch.
"Okay, Ross, let's just say that I know Alan like I know the back of my hand. I'm sure that Alan told you to have this meeting, and then to tell him probably every word I said" David said.
"Not every word, but Alan is interested to know the context and basis of this meeting" Ross admitted.
David sighed. "Alan may be the "National Senior Partner of the firm, and the guy who represents us at the National BARR association meetings. Alan works his ass off, and is a mega bright guy, or he would not be where he is. The problem I have is that, sometimes he is a bit inflexible in that he thinks he should dictate every last detail of everything. I know that as your most important client in every way, and believe me I know about his involvement with your major energy company in OKC as well as his involvement with RossShell. I stand by my belief that while our firm basically does much the same work, our clients need minor, alterations in their shall we say, desires in what they want us to do for them. Such is why I would like Alan, you and I to hold a conference call to discuss certain things, and maybe see if we could compromise on certain things" David said.
"Okay, David, I understand your point. When I get back to the office, let me call Alan and tell him what we discussed. With this being Wednesday, I need to go out of town for a day or two to deal with an important matter for my energy company in Toronto that I already postponed a couple of days to make time to have this meeting. I will definitely be in my office on Monday., I'm sure you will be back in Chicago by then. If we can work it out, might we be able to agree for Alan, you and I to have a conference call for as long as it takes on that day, and try to iron this out" Ross said
"Just tell me what time, and I will make myself available" David said.
"Thank You, David. I appreciate your flexibility" Ross said.
Ross and David finished their fine lunch, said goodbye, and Ross went back to the office, and called Alan Hell.
"Alan, I just came from lunch with David Myer. All he told me is that he would like the three of us to have a conference call to throw the idea of his campaign ideas around. While you are the senior partner and I of course follow whatever direction you want, might I ask as your advisor and your friend that we set aside say, 30 minutes to an hour just to throw this around. If you truly disapprove, then we basically will just do it your way, or, you can have a private conversation with David and figure it out with him. What I just told you would be how I would handle it though" Ross said.,
Alan laughed. "Ross, you could sell anybody anything. Fine, set it up. When can do you do it?"
"Are you available on Monday. We will take as long as need be, and as long as both of you have. I already postponed a trip up to Toronto to see John Fish in order to meet with David. I really need to get up there tomorrow to arrange energy reports to figure out what Fritz, Steve, John and I do with the next deal. In case I have to sleep over, it just makes things easier" Ross said.
"Fine, I will call David, we will set up a time that works for us on Monday, and then call you. Oh, and if Tom from Philadelphia calls you, please say nothing, mum is the word about this conference call. Do not agree to talk to him or meet with him until David , you and I have this conference call. If Tom gives you any back talk, tell me and I will put him in his place" Alan said.
"Yes, sir. May I call you on Saturday when I get back from Toronto?" Ross asked.
"By all means. Have a good trip" Alan said.
"Thanks" Ross said.
Ross worked some on the campaign, but Alan had told Ross to just go slowly, until the whole situation could be ironed out. With the Toronto trip coming up, Ross did not want to exhaust himself for something that might have to be changed anyway.
When Ross got home that night, he talked to the teacher.
"I had lunch with that guy David Myer from Chicago. He seems reasonable. Much more reasonable than Tom from Philadelphia. Then I spoke to Alan and Alan and I agreed that Alan, David, and I would have a conference call on Monday to figure this whole thing out" Ross said.
"Good. I think you will work it out. Ah, I actually want you to sleep over the one night when you go to see John Fish so as not to exhaust yourself. If you are not home in bed with me on Friday night, the teacher might have to give you detention in bondage if you know what I mean" Kayley warned.
Ross came in Kayley's face. "Do not threaten me, teacher. If you do that, when I get out of that detention you plan, I might just have to give you the tickle torture on your mega sensitive soles until you cum . However, dont worry., I will be home on Friday night since between the Alan Hell work and having to go to Toronto to see Mister Fish, I had enough this week" Ross said.
"When are you going to OKC again?" Kayley asked.
"I had said a month. It really depends on how much progress I make after this call with David and Alan. If the thing is done or close to done, I may shoot down to OKC for two days next week. Fritz and Steve are not pressuring me because they know that I'm doing something for the company by going to meet John Fish at a time when I should really be home. If I stay two days and sleep overnight, John and I may be able to come to a deal and sign say one hundred investors in Canada so something gets done. Next time I go to OKC, I would like Alan's project done, finished, and in his hands, so I can possibly go to OKC for several days, and then meet you in Vegas for a long weekend, but that depends on things, some of which I dont have control over" Ross said.
Ross and Kayley just went to sleep early that night. Ross awakened at four for an eight am flight to Toronto. He kissed Kayley goodbye, went into an Uber and went to JFK,
Ross's flight took a bit over an hour, landed in Toronto before 930, and Ross got to the office to see John Fish at ten.
In a way, even though Ross did not prefer John Fish as much as he liked Alan Hell, Fritz and Steve, Ross was happy to be out of New York for a day or two to have his mind clear of the seemingly ongoing Alan Hell and Associates Marketing Campaign, during which in the past couple of weeks, he had worked his ass off, and had extensive meetings and conversations with Tom,. Alan Hell, and David Markson.
What would this Toronto trip yield in regard to the energy company, John Fish, and the overall situation with John Fish, Ross, Fritz and Steve?
All of that would be seen.
