Any good Musical forums???

I know there are musicians on this Forum; can anyone recommend a good musical forum that doesn't suck?

I want to discuss music, not 1/4" audio cables or the business side of the "industry"- I hope to find other people who are into the kinds of music I like.

Every Forum I try sucks, but it's hard to explain why; all I find are 2-year-old posts that there's little point answering. How do you get into a discussion spread out over several years!? I search the forums for things that interest me, but it ALWAYS turns up fifty totally unrelated topics. And it seems NO ONE is into the spiritual or philosophical side of Music.....

Oh, certain forums are fine for something very specific, like wrestling with fiddly parameters on Korg's current workstation du-jour. But that'll be locked into the Korg Forum, where you can discuss Korg and nothing else, I want a forum that isn't tied to a particular manufacturer or magazine.

I don't know of one off-hand...but I'd be interested myself. A while back, I was a member of a musical forum dedicated to Rush fans, but I haven't seen one for music overall. Even then, a wide-open music forum could mean anything from classical to jazz to Top 40. If you're looking for a specific genre or two, there's gotta be some out there.

And, if nothing else, if we had enough people interested in one, an online message board is not a hard thing to make. 😉

I've always found that the problem with forums like that is the same every time: What the Hell are you going to talk about?

"I like this sound and love that song, but don't really like those."
"I agree."
"I don't agree. I love those but don't like this."

I should clarify, I'm looking for a good forum geared towards musicians.

And not the "Music Biz"; most musician forums seem to just talk about record labels, copyright law, etc. I don't care about money; it's long past time for Music to get divorced from "success" and money and cutthroat marketeering. That's another long rant for me...

I'm looking for inspiration, insight, and possibly a collaborator; without the frustrating search through pages of generic internet garbage.
