Any Liszt-o-maniacs here? Or classical music enthusiasts in general?

Hello, friends! In the mail today I was so happy to discover my 5 CD set of "The Ultimate Franz Liszt" had arrived and it got me thinking.

I don't know many classical music enthusiasts in real life and I wonder if many exist here. Would be interesting to see a discussion of the finer points of classical music pop up here. 🙂

I'd be happy to discuss the finger points of classical music, but that's such a broad topic. Mind suggesting something a little more specific? It kind of feels like saying: Religion & Politics, discuss! I will say I've a soft spot for the Romantic Russians: Mussorgsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Tchaik. I've more symphonic tastes, I suppose.

Liszt is beyond me- only Liszt piece I ever played well was his "Jeux d'eau a la villa d'Este" (Water Games at the Villa d'Este)- here's the great Claudio Arrau playing it as it was meant to be:

Wow! Mahler's 2nd Symphony? First symphony to ever literally move me to tears....and that was from a Cassette tape! Never heard it performed live, let alone been in the orchestra for it.... (or are you in the Choir?) His off-stage horn calls are like nothing I've ever heard...
