Used to watch the Pythons back in the 70s. My Dad was in England during WWII (pre-Normandy) and told me that a lot of G.I.s never got 'British' jokes. They would go to the music halls for entertainment. I have always gotten the jokes and the comic bits.

Oh,yea, the G.Is didn't like the beer over there. It was too dark, too thick and was served warm (with a hot poker) during the winter.

As the Brits would say of the American soldier....."Over paid, over sexed and over HERE!"

I used to be a bigger Monty Python fan, but over a decade of hearing people badly quote the same handful of lines from Holy Grail really did a lot of damage to my ability to enjoy them.

Oh God! My philosophy teacher and I went through the whole scene in class today, in Holy Grail where the villagers are wanting to burn the witch. I had such a blast, though no one else chimed in. v.v *giggles* It was too amazingly fantastic.

And it was 8 in the morning. >.>

I've been a fan since oh, 1972 when I heard someone yelling something about becoming a mason over a loudspeaker in a record shop. (Yes, I'm ancient. Now leave me alone! 🙂 ). It turned out to be the Python's second album.
