I have noticed lately that I have begun recieving a lot of SPAM, in foreign languages, in an email box at home and one at work. I have used internet accounts associated with both email accounts to surf tickling related sights around the web. One account is a Roadrunner (cable modem) account -- it seems to be most afflicted. The other is through a local ISP. I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same thing?

Curious,

I recive enought DOMESTIC spam. I don't need to import any foreign stuff.
I'm no computer ace, but I've heard bad stuff about the RoadRunner (perhaps Wyle E Coyote could help with that problem, I hear he's a super genius). I've heard of people getting spammed after using RoadRunner.
I actually had respect for one of the spam mails I recieved today. The sender had the courage to post an honest subject title. It was simple to delete. I get ones now that have the subject title "I reported you to AOL" and "What is wrong with you?".
I always look up the senders AOL Profile, and one had a homepage saying she was an executive for a leading pharmaceutical company. She even provided a link to the company's web site. The mail she sent was porn. I'm assuming that the "pharmaceutical executive" thing was merely a padded identity. Perhaps Q-Jakal or Tickling Duo have some input on this strangness.

We have received dozens of emails that appear to be foreign in origin but are in fact domestic disguised as foreign mails. Most of these contain viruses and are summarily disposed of without opening them. Q has the right idea...filter first.. whatever comes through that you do not recognize, you would be wise to delete immediately.

Ray is right, as is Q. Delete the things! We've gotten tons of them. They've been disguised as foreign stuff, tickling material, anything to get us to open it. The ones we opened without checking first started strings of windows popping up that would have crashed the system if we hadn't been able to stop them.

For those who have the ability to see file size, these were all ove 100K as opposed to the normal few k of regular e-mails. Unfortunately, one of the drawbacks of Outlook Express is that a name can be randomly assigned and be seen instead of the e-mail address. So, we couldn't see where they were truly from. We've taken to saving stuff to floppy and scanning it before opening it....even when the source appears known, since many have been disguised as being from members of this community.

Bottom line? Use caution. Someone out there doesn't like us and is trying to mess with us.
