You know, just to get them into position because chloroform is soooo 2006. Some people like to use the butt of the gun in a backhand motion but I know a guy who swears by a hooking shot with the rear sight. It's a little extreme for some people but pretty effective.
I've also experimented with incapacitating ticklees using blow darts tipped with toxins from South American tree frogs. The research is quite risky though and I licked the wrong one by mistake once and ended up spending three months in an isolation ward while doctors in gasmasks looked on from a safe distance. On the plus side I was the centerfold in the Spring 2008 issue of the Journal of Tropical Diseases.
